Great video thank's. I'm working on a swap as we speak on a 2009 6.4 ltr and am going with DCS as well for the 5R110. Nice to see a good video of the trans shifting and how it operates after the swap.

A few questions: - Is your build documented on a forum somewhere? - Can you estimate the horsepower/torque level of your engine build? - How many tunes did it take until you were happy with the shifting? - Do you tow anything around 12,000 lbs? Cool looks like you're in Canada? Anyway I've been asking DCS for years for a good video and always got the run around on it. Good to finally see a great video. So if it works good why the 6 speed swap? I keep thinking just rebuild the 6.0L but then I remember the HPOP,ICP,IPR,head studs,turbo vanes,wiring harness' etc etc etc lol and I think 12 valve bulletproof ess...

Which company did you get your conversion stuff from I know where a ton of 09 and 2010 f250 are with blown 6.4 powerstrokes

That's the old setup, it's a Ppump 24v with a fmvb 48re now but try DCS or destroked

Hey Josh, I'm just curious, and this will help me a lot, if the 5R110 was shifting so well why did you go with the ZF6? Were you completely happy with the 5R110 with DCS setup?

Greg Gonz it did pretty good, I never had it perfect because I knew ultimately I would zf6 swap it, it's out now and zf6 is almost in.

I'm not a Ford guy but nice truck.

6 forward gears? I just learned something new. My 5r110 only lasted 3 days after I got ahold of it. (100% my fault) Im torn between built 5r and zf6. Im partial to standard transmissions, but know I would love my truck with a built auto lol.

5 gears + Overdrive/lockup Normal driving allow you to skip 4th gear and 4th gear lockup. And go straight into With Tow/haul on you can shift into 4th and hold the gear until 2500rpm then you go into overdrive, and then lockup in overdrive until you press the brake. 4th gears is just a tiny bit longer than 3rd gear for icy roads. It allows for steady power output while shifting and doesnt bog your motor way down at 45 mph I had the 2005 6.0L and it this transmission is a beast. Upgrade your 3-4, 4-5, and TCC shift solenoids and valve body. Then this bad boy will whoop and allison transmission that approaches your bumper

do you need to have the programer pluged in all the time? or do ya program once and your done and can leave the box out of the truck? and thanks for sharing

@@devin3156 no, sct is a flash tune. You flash your tune in and can unplug the handheld tuner.

Is the transmission holding up? Or it is screwed after a while? I was told these don’t work and I shouldn’t do it

James Pietrzykowski my 2005 5r110 lasted about 2000 miles behind my 6.7 swap before 5th gear went bye bye, that short live was probably because I was running a s467 turbo and tuning. Drove great at low throttle but would flare into 5th anything over 50% throttle which caused 5th gear clutch pack to fail quickly

The code you are seeing in your odometer display can be fixed by putting the 4 prong trailer light adapter into your trailer brake plug in. Dont ask how it works but it fixes the problem and your blinkers and brake lights will work with your trailer lights plugged in and you will see the odometer. Technically it has 6 gears, it only uses true 4th gear when it is very cold. This is why you can hear he doesn't call out 4th gear when it is shifting. From what I have read, aside from being used to warm up the truck faster, the 4th gear shift engagement wears out one of the clutch packs very quickly, which is why it is not used in normal operation. At the same token, when shifting into 5th gear in very cold temperatures, the transmission was observed by Ford engineering to break due to insufficient lubrication at the direct drive assembly, and the cold shift pattern avoids 5th gear. So it seems like Ford engineering knew some of the flaws in their design and wrote the tuning to work around the mechanical limitations.
