Cumberland Island is awesome. I like it best in the winter. Less people. Less bugs.
Magnificent!
Cumberland Island is my Eden! I have primitive backpacked there so many times i have lost count. My feet has walked all over that island. Each time i go i always see and find new things. If you ever want to experience it you will not be disappointed!!

@Georgia Rad Clay I LOVE your Moniker!!!! He said you can camp there but be sure to catch the afternoon fairy, is he meaning to catch it on the day you wish to leave or you're stuck there another night? Do you know their website for booking stuff or do you know if the Inn is open 7 days a week because I don't see where he left information on a site, or how to find island information and rates, etc.. And if stranded another night will the Inn help with water, by filling your container with or without a charge? It sounds amazing!
Passenger van tour? We had an open back pickup truck to pile into! 😆 Also the ferry was a small wooden boat with a guy playing acoustic guitar and someone else driving it. That was in the 1970s with my fifth grade class. We stayed at Greyfield Inn for three days. I only had one little instamatic camera with 12 black and white exposures, so I didn't get a bunch of lovely photos as I would do today.
I loved going here and we never even seen another person or building where we were at
I remember going here as a kid with my Boy Scout troop when I was probably 14-15 years old. I’ll never forget backpacking down the beaches and setting up a camp in the woods. Seeing all the wild horses, buildings, etc was more than memorable. Taking the ferry over, literally all of it. My family/gf asked what I want to do for my 30th birthday and I told them this is exactly it. I want to go camp on Cumberland! Make these memories with my gf and her kids! They’ll never forget it. So in 2 weeks I plan pin going back for the first time in 15 years!!!!

jacob did you go? Hope you had a great time!
Thank you for sharing ! Excited to visit sometime soon!
My husband gave me a book on the wild ponies for Christmas. I love horses. I so want to visit! Also if you haven’t checked out the wild ponies at the Grayson Highlands on border of VA and NC your missing out. It’s also heaven. Wild ponies everywhere off the AT and Blue Ridge. Sheer heaven
Loved the video, so I subbed, rang the bell and of course smashed the like button!!! I don't see any information in the description box, nor did I see or hear it in the video about a website or email address to get information about the island, stays and costs of staying on, etc.. Could you please correct that either here in the comments, or the description area, so we can check it out and go and enjoy ourselves should we decide to make a visit!! Thank you!!!
