I got to take the tour this past week. What an amazing experience to view nature. Peaceful and fabulous time eating lunch under the oaks at Plum Orchard.’Didn’t have enough time to make it to the beach though. We stopped at the 2nd cemetery which took too long.

Really enjoyed this video. Very interesting historical information and such a beautiful setting. I really enjoyed the tour through the mansion. That was really well preserved and very fascinating as well. Also congrats on exploring all 10 National Seashores. I haven’t made it to Cumberland Island yet but have been to Jekyll Island and the surrounding area. Beautiful area. I have thought about doing a backpacking trip here sometime in the late fall/early spring when I do my semi-annual camping trips with my older two. I usually get their input for the setting and we come up with a plan. No takers yet.

What a fantastic place :) And congrats on visiting the 10th and final National Seashore. This brings forth a question for you, my friend. Amongst the "Collectors" Community, there are "Completists" folks who have that inner drive to "collect them all." Is there any part of you that has that feeling, even in the slightest sense? We aim for the 63 Major Parks to start "collecting" experiences and the smaller units as we can. We are finding the more we visit, the more we get excited about the next adventure :) Thank you for sharing your adventures as always and Much Love

  • @AmericasParks

Great words, my friend! Yes, I am a collector a heart! Also like to set goals, so in this case they play off each other. The goal was all 63 and most of the smaller units, but over time the smaller units interested me less and some of the 63 are just too expensive to visit. So in more of a contentment mode - see as many as I can among the one's I'll enjoy the most.

  • @jymnmeier3527

@@AmericasParks What a great approach. I hear ya in regards to some of the 63 being expensive to visit. I had dreams of heading to Alaska for my 50th and then did some modest research for me +3....YIKES. Here's hoping you make it to those that elude you. You inspire so many to get out there and experience "America's Parks". Would love to see you atop a volcano in Hawaii, exploring a beach in America Samoa, gazing upon Grizzlies in Alaska and jumping in the waters of them all
