The thing I love about your tutorials is that they are exactly the way I think when I want to choose a quilt pattern. I like using precuts and to assemble my blocks without having to refer to instructions at every steps. Hallelujah! PA USA
Love your videos. You explain and demonstrate what is going on clearly. Thank you.

I love, this it is done with such ease, I must try it, thank you for making this an east tutorial.
Love this way of using a Layer Cake and love too your teaching style. I hate "waffle" when trying to concentrate on a tutorial and your concise, all-points-covered method is perfect. I am so pleased I discovered Sewing Street and know my sewing and quilting skills will improve considerably following you folk along. Best wishes and "Thank You" to everyone at Sewing Street. I love watching you. You are an excellent instructor. Definitely trying this one with Tula Pink.
I just found you! This is a simple block, but it has lots of possibilities. It's a good way to use layer cakes, of which I have far too many!!
good tip to press the three together, I need to try that
This is the first time I've heard of this pattern (I'm a new quilter), and I love this. Beautiful quilt. Thanks for the tutorial!
just found you now. Will be watching more
It’s a gorgeous quilt. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for that variation, and title, of the block. I used a Christmas themed layer cake with each section/log of the block a different print. I think I shall try yours next.
Definitely going to try this!!
Recently discovered you and love the way you teach. I will be following you. Thank you

Just found you and will subscribe.
I love your concise demos and really like your patterns, but I must be dense because I can't ever find the free patterns to download!
Beautiful. Now if I could just get someone to cut all the pieces out for me as I don't enjoy that bit!
Love it...however, what about using a charm pack and matching jelly roll to save a lot of cutting??? More expense, but less work in cutting. Huh?
Fun!
I love the quilt. However, I did not see a pattern that I could print? Thanks
Your videos are excellent content-wise and technically. Can I ask you where you got that go-pro mount?
What happen to the free Christmas block I’m still waiting for my fourth instalment . I love this, great new block

Love the quilt, you make things look so easy. Can you let me know the make of your iron? Thank you

It's an Oliso Smart Iron - Very clever technology!
I love this iron!!! What brand is it?
@SewingStudio
Жыл бұрын
Hello! The iron is by Oliso, its called the Smart iron. You can buy from us: www.thesewingstudio.co.uk/products/oliso-smart-iron-uk
What is the unfinished size of the block? 9"?
Is the pattern on the website?
Love this block... Question... after you cut your block by the 2 1/2 inch size, would I be safe to trim all the strips (except the first one) down by that 1/2 inch? I am older (82) and find that the up and down for all that trimming and ironing wears me out. Another question on the use of the Fancy Stitches, was this done before or after the quilt sandwich was completed.......
@NiecyRose
2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely you can trim in advance, I’m going to do exactly that so that I can piece the whole block in one step in chan fashion. I believe the decorative stitching is done when the quilt is finished to as part of the actual quilting. It’s a great idea, I haven’t seen that technique before and it much more forgiving than the traditional quilting in the ditch which is quite difficult. Good luck with your quilt, greetings from the UK.
Question...started this quilt but I'm finding that all of my seams are running in the same direction...not opposite...so when it comes time to join the four blocks together to make the larger block, I can't "lock and line" up the seams as traditionally done. Did I miss something? I ironed exactly as shown in the video. Maybe I should be ironing all the seams "open"?

Hello Dale I will ask Katrina and let you know.

Hi Dale I have Katrina with me and she has said: it can be difficult to have all your seams going in the right direction, because of shuffling your squares, therefore it is an option to press you seams open. Katrina has done this in the past.
Very nice. Thank you for the demo. The quilt size would be 48 inches before adding borders right?
@SewingStudio

I have checked with Katrina and the size is 51-52 inches before adding the border.

@@SewingStudio Thank you. Have a wonderful day!
how do you get the free pattern?
Lots of seams to match up in the traditional layout. 😬
After you make the 2nd cut, don't you have a 7 1/2 inch square? Why would you need to turn it to make the 3rd cut?
This is very interesting but I wish the demonstrator was more aware of where she puts her rotary cutter. It’s a safety issue with me. I think beginner quilters could benefit from learning to put a rotary cutter a little further away from their hands.
Where can I find the download for this pattern ?
