    Jeanette I recently bought papers and a hexagon but it’s a 2” one but I’m going to give it a go. I love the idea of using up the scraps I also have a 1” hexagon but I don’t have the papers for it and it’s small for me. I look forward to using my 2” hexagon pieces in ways you’ve shown on here and other videos thank you so much for the introduction to paper piecing.❤😊

    Thank you for this. Am I correct in saying you cannot position the needle to the right (when it's facing you), only central or to the left (A and B)? I found this rather strange for example when I was doing the understitching I wanted to use the 'stitch in the ditch' foot to help me, and have the stitches a fraction to the right on the yoke. I wasn't able to do this without turning the whole garment round and having the yoke on the left which was very difficult.

    I think the main issue for Bernina is their prices considering what other manufacturers give you they give you so much less and you have to pay outrageous prices for accessories. I wanted to buy a Bernina but the daily oiling was not something I wanted to do and pay thousands of dollars for it. Plus its hard to find someone to fix them.

    I Love all 3 blocks. I particularly Love the first red, white & blue block. Oh, who am I kidding: I am currently working on a Jacob's Ladder Quilt, very similar to The Jewel Box block. I'm making it in two colors: a fairly dark taupish warm gray and orange thru red orange contrasting color and value. It is turning out gorgeously 😊 Many Thanks for your tutorials! ❤❤❤

    I’m so torn between 725 and 423 and I wish I could get some good advice. Some folk say top loader is more reliable and others say side loader gives better stitching…. Help?! Also I think I want sturdy so is 423 better because of full metal body? I’m used to vertical thread holder. Helpppppppp 😅

  • @SewingStudio
    @SewingStudio2 күн бұрын

    Hello! We believe that for your purposes the 423s, would be the better machine. It has a front loading bobbin which produces a much nicer stitch and is better for free motion. It also copes better with thicker fabrics. We hope that helps. Please do email [email protected] if you have any further questions.

    I got this machine in December and so far I’m loving it. I’m looking forward to doing free motion quilting with the stitch regulator. I’ve only ever bought 1 Moda scrap bag and most of the strips had the selvage edge along the bottom of the strip and half the strips were cut squint so I only ended up with about 1.5” of useable fabric on the strip rather than 2.5”, some of the strips were only 1.5” wide at one end! I was really disappointed because you couldn’t see this looking at it. It really put me off buying another one.

    I have purchased the "Moda Scrap Bags"... all different times, different stores.... one does need to watch out, as on the whole length of the strip, all the way down... you get the Bolt End Holes that hold the fabric onto the machinery...these need to be sliced off, prior to using the now narrower strip! Still a fun bag to buy... but be aware of the loss of fabric..
