CSX: Y220 with a single former Baltimore & Ohio GP40-2 working on the Fremont Secondary!

Filmed on 5/12/24
Y220 was tasked today to do Y102s job. All they had to do was to pick up the outbound train that was sitting on the main. They started working at 8:40 AM, entering the siding track to drop off the conductor 12 cars back. After which they pulled 12 cars to Oak Point Yard. About an hour and 20 minutes later they came back to do the same procedure only this time they pulled 15 cars. Once again leaving the rest of the train on the main. After an hour and 30 minutes later, they showed up for the third and final time where they first went lite all the way back to the train to place the marker on the rear. Later they were backing the 6205 onto the main coupling onto the rest of the outbound train. They pulled the train past the BQE switch and stopped. Conductor was walking towards the rear of the train and the 6205 reversed the entire train to pick up the conductor. Unfortunately I didn’t catch them working the first 2 times but I’m not angry whatsoever. To see a GP40-2 on the Fremont is rare itself let alone a single engine doing all the work.

It’s safe and best locations are at Queens Blvd with the viaduct, 69th St (in the video), and my spot around 45th Av.

P&W CHFP usually runs three times a week (Sunday’s, Tuesday’s, Thursday’s). FPCH runs on the opposite days (Monday’s, Wednesday’s Friday’s). But they haven’t been running on a Sunday lately. So it’s been just twice a week they show up. CHFP arrives Queens, NY around 2-4 AM, FPCH leaves FPY around 6-8 PM. And Elliot where my buddy csx8851 films at is another good spot to film, u can get great overhead shots.
