@@USNWifeAustinI am hearing a lot fell into a signal suspension and having to hand throw switches. I work for The railroad. I saw the crew leave Moncrief yesterday to go to Duval to get their train together. I wrote several papers to the FRA about operating at restricted speed through signal suspension blocks and then calling the dispatcher to inform route is clear so secondary trains are ensured a faster speed through that area up to 49mph as in “dark territory “ rules. This all could have been prevented. Saddens me that PTC does not have an overlay to create a “soft Stop” signal on both the front and back of a train in an occupied block. Railroads only spend the bare bottom dollar to the mandatory PTC installed by government rules because we cannot operate safely on our own apparently. This is all preventable and senseless by all accounts I am hearing. Most people don’t know the amount of induced PTSD most railroaders struggle with under the onerous pressure to provide the rich hedge fund holders a profit…. One day this all gets straight….
