The only craft he claims to be duped w/ wear is from 2015, so it is entirely possible that it was duped 10 years ago and never went public. I have a few random skins that are dupes from back then, just matching float and pattern ID mostly. It's entirely possible that players returning after 10 years had random dupes that were private until they are now worth something. Keep in mind, stickers didn't used to add any real value. It wasn't something anyone cared about until pretty much duping was fixed in 2015-2016. Also, the sale of iBUYPOWER in 5s makes perfect sense because of the new sticker update. Obviously they going to be bought in 5s, they are the only iBUYPOWER sticker other than Colonge 2014 or Kato 2014 (which is like $5,000). I even sold a couple iBUYPOWER Dreamhack 2014s during that price bump and it was not to that account in this video and there was no bans and I even got to see one get crafted as a 5th sticker. Don't forget, the sticker update was only in February, thats 3 months ago, no one knows what's "best" for a craft yet but everyone wants an iBUYPOWER or Titan.

Im russian who lives in Canada for 4 years, and I can say that Russian support in any indistry is 10 times better than here. It seems people here dont care about the issue at all, they give same scripted answers and oftenly dont even read the problem

If that was the case, that he was getting refunded, but has like 10 of the same 5 sticker crafts, he would have needed to repurchase the sticker to do that with steam money, and that would have been a bigger anomaly then just 5-10 sticker sales.

We deserve a rework on steam support or an explanation on how steam support works. This is ridiculous, I got very lucky 2 weeks ago as I got a false community ban, it was a ban for 14 years. I went through steam support and it took them 5 days to fix it (not good but way better than 14 years) but I know theres people out there who also get false community banned and steam support cant do a thing about it. It seems like something isnt right with steam support. Whether its the people their hiring or the system they are following it needs to change

is it still duping if lets say your items get scammed and they ban the account before they can sell? cause from what I've heard steam won't revert that which seems weird to ban the account (technically deleting the skins, since they can't be sold.) and then not returning the skins to the original owner. With that being said i don't mean like take from random people who may own them now but if the banned account still has possession of them

they are buying it off the market for 2k USD (cap price of skin) then the buyer reports it as someone used his card to buy it the offer gets reverted. the reverting process leaves the item unsold so it goes back to be able to be bought the player has it in his inventory since its reverted someone buys it again because the tx was reverted? I would assume there is error that is unproperly putting the item back on market when its revert sold because the seller has a confirmation pop up to confirm sale of the item or something to do with API because when i put my shit on market and smoeone had direct price of item none sold btw I put it at that price and before i could confirm it that offer was gone and I could not sell it and new price popped few cents less than the top that it was. so the API is being able to request the prices immediately while we have to fucking F5 the fucking market all time.

Steam using third party vendors as support agents. These third party vendors can hire anyone and give them admin access. Hence here is where people start to scam, worst case valve notice and cancel partnership with the third party vendor but the agent working there makes a lot of money.

He can slowly sell off the crafts and make a few thousand a month without raising suspicions for a while. I also don’t understand why he isn’t doing this with higher tier skins. youre wrong about that guy buying the ibuypower stickers on SCM, that was multiple other people and it was legit with no bans... that was actually completely normal activity it's literally an ibuypower sticker, there are only the Colonge 2014 and the Dreamhack 2014... you need 5x for a craft now not 4, so people bought them in 5s to make a craft. I don't think that dude would be buying the stickers themselves off the steam market. Seriously, I sold a few of those stickers (they were popping off due to the sticker update btw) and it wasnt even that guy buying them. :P Back when you could see the purchase history, I saw them being used for legit crafts as a 5th slot on kato 14s, and I saw them being bought in 5s to make full 5x iBUYPOWER crafts. If the scam does rely on steam market, it's probably has NOTHING to do with the stickers, because he's duping the CRAFTS. Come on dude, this is simple stuff. It's even potentially possible that it is legit, perhaps some org wants to get skins for their team and have them all matching? I'm surprised more teams don't pre-craft team skins for their teams, would make a lot of sense and it's basically free advertizing once you craft it. :P EDIT : Also the craft with scraped stickers you showed is from Kato 2015, which was when duping was still possible but sticker crafts were not really worth much and didn't add any value unless they were crazy kato 2014 crafts (which this isnt) on like Howls, Vulcans or Dragon Lores.... honestly that skin was probably duped 10 years ago and just never went public until now. I have a few random skins that are dupes from 10 years ago, some are even pre-kato 2014, just random things I picked up trading a decade ago and didn't even know about until a few years ago. Some were private until recently, a lot of people came back for CS2 and if they haven't played in 10 years, it's possible that their worthless skins are worth something.

I recovered an old Smurf account from like 2016 I had forgotten about that had almost $1k in cases and skins. When I stopped playing on it I think the inventory might have been worth like $70 (I was saving up operation and case drops to try and get a knife for “free”).

The way it works is they are buying the skin with their with a throw away (with fake credit card) for highly overpriced and then sell it to their second account for penny on the dollar by being the only highest buy order and then selling it at buy order. 😂. The 2nd account gets flagged and the first account loses steam funds but gets skin back. In other words they sold the skin for buy order price to their second account with a fraudulent account in the middle.

Well it's not really duping unless people also get their stickers refunded? Either i missed something or you did not really make any mention or proved this to be the case? There's a difference from "scamming" valve and getting the stickers for free, and these people actually getting the stickers refunded into their inventories after the market sale. Additionally, unless these stickers are unapplied no "real" damage is being done since the crafts are so terrible. Sure these awps are quite valuable comparatively but they will hardly alter the sticker market given the aforementioned caveats.
