As much as I love Oliver Pinard's playing holy shit I miss Eric Langlois. So hard to find any videos of him playing these days. He was the first bassist I ever saw playing funk lines in death metal. Absolute weapon.

@@SpongeBath_ShitPants tbh i love how Whisper Supremacy sounds but … i really don’t like the production of NSV, it’s mainly because of that reason why it’s not my favorite Cryptopsy album (despite it’s everyone else’s favorite)

@@triplesixmafia Yeah, I really have trouble appreciating an album if it's mixed poorly. _Whisper Supremacy_ wasn't too bad. _And Then You'll Beg_ was kind of okay too. The mix on _Blasphemy Made Flesh_ really pissed me off because Jon had some incredible riffs on that, but you can barely hear them with the sludgy mixing. The only time I've been able to hear Jon's riffs in all their glory is in live videos.

@@SpongeBath_ShitPants MAN, BMF is the best sounding album IMHO! Those scooped guitars are part of the ultimate brutality. Its just that the mastering is too low, i can easily fix that but yeah a louder mastering should have helped a bit i think.

It was professionally shot in 2006 at an open-air event in Germany called Party San. Events like this usually only release a clip or two from each band and scrap the rest, unfortunately. The final release is supposed to be more like a compilation of all the bands that were on the bill.

Yeah... I always thought the drums were too loud on the album. Still my favorite Cryptopsy after BMF tho.

@@loboahriman7680I wish that album could get remastered. It sounds worse than the albums previous in terms of mixing. “And then you’ll beg” sounded a lot stronger. The drums overpowered everything on “once was not” unfortunately. I don’t go back to it very much for that reason.

@@kovin_kestnar49K For me Once Was Not as a top notch production, the loud drums gives a really unique character to the entire mix itself, it was done for a reason, just like older bands scooped the mids on the guitars.

@@Massobliteration respect your opinion and optimism for the project. I really really don’t like what they did. Especially from an audio engineers perspective. You shouldn’t get fatigue from listening to a project and I certainly get that from this.

(My project is Massacred a Mortician like project, also Hatefilled a Grindcore project) Its great to see how can opinions can differ in mixing... I listened all the Once Was Not album and never got any kind of fatigue, but maybe its because i like dirty but good sounding mixes.

Logan Wilder there's no reason to assume he is closed minded. Yes there are more genres of music out there other then metal, I just love metal more then all other genres of music combined. Everyone has there own preference. In my opinion, metal is the best by far, and all other genres are cool except for country, mainstream/pop, and my most disliked genre, hip hop/rap. No offense.

@@redskull1424 Exactly. Real fans buy the music, whether it be through bandcamp, CDs, vinyls, whatever. Also buying merch, and attending concerts. Streaming is a good way to find new bands but they make little pocket change from it. Real fans buy the shit.

почему-то у меня такое ощущение, что лорд специально вернулся, навалил вокального кринжа в их "once was not", и съебался. видимо левассер не просто устал, он почуял что-то неладное, лол. уважение уорму за первые два альбома, но их концерты с дисальво и лакруа навсегда в моем сердечке.
