mission accomplished! we’re actually going on another cruise next month with a different cruise line. it’ll be interesting to see how the food compares. of course we’ll be making a video all about it!

I gotta say you guys really took advantage of everything the cruise offers and that’s amazing! We gotta learn from you! The food looked amazing and all cruises have the best staff. Great video! 😃

Oo, great video, one of the perks of cruising - the food!!! It all looked really good and it was nice to see that the staff are hot on the cleanliness and surfaces. yeah, those medallions are really neat. they have scanners all over the ship, so they always know where you are. you can even track other members of your party on the cruise’s app!

We are so jealous. We love cruises and especially the food. This ship has a good selection of restaurants. Thanks for letting us experience it virtually through you.

If you like tomato juice, you'll probably like them! They can be made spicy, if you like that, too. Some places put all kinds of garnishes in them - even things like shrimp or a piece of bacon! Let us know if you ever make it out to Los Angeles, and we'll send you to our friend's place in Hollywood for our favorite Bloody Marys at St. Felix!

Yum! That's so cool that they'll deliver your food wherever you are on the ship!

we really wanted to place an order and start wandering all around the ship to see if they’d be able to catch us, but we thought that would be mean. Plus, we really wanted our dessert. 😂

This ship has a great selection of food & the staff looks so friendly! It was a bad idea to watch this when we were hungry because now we are REALLY hungry 😂 The food looked so yummy!

She trained me well. 😅 Unfortunately most of the baked goods were on the dry side, which is why we gave the food an overall B grade. But they had a ton of options, which was fun!

Mmmmm now I am hungry. You two found the perfect spot to enjoy your Bloody Mary's. The Good Spirit bar experience looked awesome, we would want to try both of the drinks you ordered!

The pizza in the thumbnail looks so yummy! Wow that elegant dinner room looks amazing. Nice edit with music in the bakery! Great information in such a delicious vlog. Maybe someday we can go have tea at the drake hotel in Chicago! We are not so sure jenny would be able to handle the motion sickness in a cruise. I (Andie) was so worried about motion sickness. I can't even drive through the little mountains here in North Carolina without stopping! But it was honestly fine. This was the only day I felt a little queasy, and if I had taken something or chewed on some of my ginger chews, it probably would have gone away pretty quickly. Tea at the Drake sounds awesome - it's a date!

Both drinks sounded very fun. Love potatoes au gratin! Chocolate Cake and Key Lime Pie!!!!!???? So jealous!

it was better than the chocolate cake (says the chocaholic). Unfortunately almost all of the baked goods on board were dry. That was the major reason for the B grade in our review.

If I had a daughter, I would want a Son-In-Law just like Stephen. Great choice Andie!! My wife and myself were on this ship when it first started sailing. Went from Rome to Shanghai and yes...it's a fabulous ship! Happy to see the crew wearing masks and taking all the necessary precautions.

I’ve always heard it can be excellent. By the end of the week, we were feeling like it was just okay. I think it’s resort quality rather than restaurant quality, if that makes any sense?

I'm so glad that we ate before watching this because there are so many options! Love the drink package! We loved your drink package for free! YAY Blooody Mary Right!?!? Wow, Had to look up HIGH TEA vs. AFTERNOON TEA. Guess we have never done high before HAHA. 2nd drinks looked amazing too and loved that it was changing colors. those DIRTy BIRDS NEED TO GO! I feel like we would enjoy this so much! HAHA. Tracking Devices are very interesting too! Thanks for sharing

lol! so funny we finally had a couple of videos do really well. I guess we need to just keep going on cruises? 😆 I had no idea the difference between high tea and afternoon tea until Dara (Magenta Otter) caught me saying the wrong one in a community post while I was editing this vlog. Thank goodness she pointed it out so I could correct myself!

This gets me SO inspired to book another CRUISE!!!!!!!!!

of course! we were also curious if all of the little British things were typical of cruises in general or if it was specific to this ship because of its Chinese roots? I think this ship typically sails in the Australasian Pacific, with stops in Hong Kong, Sydney, etc?

It's so cool to get a little preview of what cruises are like. How big did the waves have to be to shake a boat that size like that? The food all looked great... and so fancy! And they can find you with those cards??? Crazy!!

the water didn’t seem very rough, so I don’t think it took much to rock the boat. I didn’t see any big waves around us. the medallions are cool. they have scanners all over the ship, so they always know where you are. you can also track other members of your own party in their app, so I could never hide from Stephen. 😂

I would never get to leave the ship with all those food options to chose from - and come home a lot heavier! Nice explanation of teh places to eat there!

seriously, there’s almost no reason to eat off-ship! except that Alaska had the most amazing and freshest seafood we’ve had in ages, so the food even at casual spots was 100% worth it. It was definitely a win-win situation!

When you talk about the boat rocking, it totally makes me want to stick to my plan of never doing a cruise!

If it helps, it was mostly just that one day. The weirder thing was that we had that "mal de debarquement syndrome" for a couple of weeks after the cruise!

Good question! Not sure. The events on our cruise were pared down, due to Covid and trying to avoid too many people gathering too close together. They always had music and dancing in the Palazzo, though (the open center area of the ship) and there were often latin standards mixed into the playlist. We saw some couples take the floor who were really great dancers - reminded us of you two!

21.33. I've sailed with Princess many times but have never heard of drinks package being thrown in for free, can you explain how you got this please.

we went at the during/almost post pandemic time when cruising was just starting up again, so they were offering great deals and packages to incentivize people to travel. we also booked through a travel agent who specializes in cruises. I’m not sure of one or both of those factors worked in our favor, but it must have as it was nothing we did to get it.

how much weight did you gain? The food looks irresistable! I'm taking my first Ruby Princess cruise in October. Is there a scale on the ship? All in good fun, thanks for the video!

Eating was always our favorite part of the cruises but sometimes the bill at the end of the cruise was scary. But it was all me because my wife doesn’t drink alcohol 😆

we were so lucky to get the drinks package for free, so we didn't have to worry about that. Nothing kills vacation vibes more than getting hit with a huge tab at the end! 😅

that’s a great question. In this case, and we understand it’s the case on many cruises, there is a fee per day added to your room bill, which is meant for crew gratuities. They add it on automatically and based on the level of cabin you book (so a higher amount if you book a suite). However, I’ve heard that it’s possible to opt out of this fee. I’m not sure how to go about that, though. I’ve also heard different reports on how much of that actually goes to the crew. So for that reason, we did leave an additional cash tip for many of the food service personnel and bartenders we encountered, as well as our cabin steward. But just like tipping anywhere else, that’s entirely up to you.

So only one dining room, a cafe, and a buffet? Seems pretty limited. And I could barely see any of the actual food options on the buffet, camera moved too fast.

Is afternoon tea extra?

it was included! you’d just want to make a reservation, as it’s popular and has limited seating. but they did it on a couple of days on our cruise, so there may be multiple opportunities to get in.

You said you were "going to take the time to check out all the food options here onboard" the Majestic Princess, but you left out way too many restaraunts. You didn't even mention the Chef's Table I was hoping to learn about. What a rip! Thumbs down!

we’re sorry we let you down. we realize we didn’t state until later in the video that we were going to the places that were included in the reservation. We will be more careful to state all details like that up front. Unfortunately the other restaurants, including the Chef’s Table, are specialty dining and cost additional. We will be mindful to be more clear in the future.

Your on vacation you should enjoy and get a little tipsy or sloppy drunk who the hell cares!
