You two are my favorite “cruise reporters.” I took your advice and made my way by water taxi to Water Island while in St. Thomas in August. It was a short port day for the Disney Fantasy, and I was the only one to travel to the island beach. I swam with 5 sea turtles alone for over an hour. Amazing! Captain Birch (free shuttle driver) said the island is also home to large tortoises that come out of the woods when it rains.

Princess is the best for Alaska cruises. I will only do Princess for Alaska cruises. Majestic is a beautiful ship, can’t wait to cry Discovery next year

Is Mr Washy Washy with Princess now? We first came across him on Celebrity cruises, I think on that same Alaskan cruise, and have seen him with various different cruise lines since. Great bloke! Pity you didn't get off in Juneau. We went up to the glacier and then to the nursery to see the upside down trees - a really great tour. The rangers at the glacier were funny. Someone asked if we'd see any bears and one of them pulled out his radio and asked them to let out the 10 o'clock bear. They must get sick of tourists asking that question!

Have so enjoyed your many Alaska cruise videos! From which port have you had the best whale watching excursion (although I realize it depends on season, luck, whether whale-attracting Dee is on board, etc.)? 🤣

Whales are very fickle creatures. When we were in Icy Straight Point, there was not a whale in sight, yet the week before they'd apparently been putting on a spectacular display all around the ship. You just have to be lucky, I guess. However we made up for it later getting to see 2 grizzly bears near Lake Louise, which is a rare enough sight. I've seen humpback whales breeching up close back in Australia though. It's certainly a magical moment!

Get that gal some cowboy boots before yer next cruise! Are port stops in Alaska getting shorter this season? Seems like it compared to HAL last year.
