@@dlynn101i mean. he’s saying to bring it after so it isn’t tampered with
Her action is a crime. It's called "Tampering with consumer product," which carries (in some places) up to 7 years in prison. She should be tracked down and some sort of action taken against her. And although some people might be dismissive of the act, on the assumed basis it might just be a prank for social media attention, that matters none, because the act has the potential of harming the cruise line onboard product sales business. I hope Carnival takes action and make her an example for others who might dare to be that stupid and malicious.

The bottles are left in the room when they turn over the room. They are carefully inspected the bottles are always sanitized. Or discarded if they are dented cracked melted or tampered with in any way. So it's not like she did anything funny she just a girl that thought it was funny and trying to get slick.

😂 I agree with your final sentiment of I think this was just attention-seeking behavior. I don't think she thought beyond that she just thought she was being funny. But truthfully like I said it is impossible to come in contact with any of those bottles as they are removed every time the room is turned over inspected sanitized and checked thoroughly before they put them back in the room.
The fix is very simple. No water bottles in the room. If you want water bottles, your cabin will be charged first, and then water bottle will be delivered to your stateroom by cabin Steward. Simple.

The rooms when they are turned over those bottles are removed for those reasons and they are not just left in the room for sanitary reasons they are carefully inspected and re sanitized. So whatever she did to them it will come off when they are re sanitize and placed back in the room. So no one is going to drink after that or even have that risk. Because again the bottles are checked inspected and sanitized before they are put back in the room. They don't just leave them there

I've never corrected you Jay but I will this time. The water coming from the cabin bathroom faucet is technically safe to drink. It's NOT gray water which is water from sinks and showers that's used and goes down the drain. Sink faucet water is not filtered an additional time like the water at the buffet dispensers are, but it's still no different than your faucet water at home. That being said, this lady should absolutely be banned from Carnival and possibly arrested. No one should ever tamper with water, food or anything else. If she's too cheap to buy those waters, she should walk her ass up to the buffet and fill up her own water bottle there. Do not try to cheat. How disgusting!

I was just on a carnival cruise a week ago, and we drank one of the large bottles of water that didn't have a price tag on it. We thought it was the courtesy bottle of water we were supposed to get, but it turns out you get the free bottle of water at the cafe. So, I was charged for the bottle in the room, and now I'm worried it may have been tampered with, especially because the tag was missing.
My mom used to work at a salon and people frequently returned hair products that had been dumped out and the expensive bottles replaced with cheap VO5 shampoo or baby oil. Scams like this have been around for a long time but it's pretty pathetic that someone would do this over a $5 bottle of water.
I was in Chicago during the time someone tampered with Tylenol. I know, not the same but at the same time is the same. Tampering with anything that is ingested by another should not only be a ban but a felony charge.

I’ve been to Jamaica a lot air&land and most of the things sold in those craft marts are souvenirs. honestly, what are we going to do with all those souvenirs when we get back home! lol It’s just adding to clutter! when I go on vacation now, I pass up those items and focus on food & entertainment
Gluing the caps on water bottles that have been refilled with tap water was common in Thailand too. Our food safety guys always told us to never buy bottled water from the “guy with the cooler”.
“If I don’t want to payeth, I don’t drinketh!” Not J with the Olde Englishe 🤣🤣🤣
“Dipped in stupid” 😂😂😂😂 I’m using that from now on.
One of the great things about being a millennial is that the technology didn't exist to film our shenanigans when we were little, so that now that it does, we know better. The simple fix for that lady : GET A REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE. They even sell them in the store on ship (but rinse out with potable water before using). I have a 24oz water bottle that I fill whenever I pass the buffet so that I am not in need when I am in my cabin.
I loved Jamaica when I went there or a week, but in cruising, it was terrible. People are rude and aggressive when you get there. They cuss you out if you don’t buy something or give them money. It is a problem and should be addressed by Jamaica because they are and will continue to fail to receive tourists dollars because of it. I empathize with the tough conditions of the locals, but no person can solve the economic inequality of that country. Tourists that treat their country and population respectfully should be treated respectfully in return. They should not be hassled to give them money (10x10x10) just to walk on shore.
actually flew into Montego Bay and got a Ride to Ocho Rios. A legit awesome place once you are away from the tourist port.
We ported in Montego Bay and had an amazing time going down the Martha ray river! It was absolutely beautiful and relaxing!!
Shame on her. She should be banned.
When we were on a small cruise ship and stopped in Jamaica, they wouldn’t let us out in the larger port city because of high crime at the time. They told us not to wear our expensive watches or jewelry, and to take only what we thought we would need. They loaded us onto buses and took us far from the city. We did an excursion on one of the bamboo rafts and it was amazing. Our raft pilot took us downstream for 2 hours. He worked so hard with the pole, keeping us off of rocks, etc. we gave him a very nice tip and he was quite appreciative. My husband was only slightly bummed out as he must have a souvenir from every port, and there was no chance to purchase one in Jamaica, they put us right back on the bus and transferred us to the ship bypassing every town and souvenir stall.
don't remember not being able to drink the tap water on a cruise ship. As far as this woman, she needs to be. banned from every cruise line and, if possible, be arrested for some kind of tampering or anything that can be used. Let's face it J, some people are just assholes.
I guess we must have been lucky the last time we were in Jamaica(Ocho Rios to be exact) we didn't experience any of those things Jay mentioned..The only 'scary' part of our time off the ship was walking on the side of the road from the 'industrial' port NCL uses to the shopping district - some CRAZY drivers in Jamaica!! Other then that we had a great time.

"Dipped in stupid" HAHAHAHAHAHAH THAT TICKLED THE HECK OUTTA ME!!!!!!! I will certainly be using this one!!!
Great job I will continue to support you 🙏
Water in cabin sinks and showers is potable. Usually done by desalinization onboard. I remember working on older ships where we had to bunker clean water but that was a long time ago. Tap water is perfectly fine to drink. May not taste great but whatever. What that passenger did was terrible. If she drank out of the bottle and then refilled it well, yuck, Now you have a contamination problem. But ships don't pipe out iffy water to your sinks for you to brush your teeth with and get a sip of water from. Encouraging others to do the same seems criminal. If I was Carnival I would ban her.
To be safe dump all the water then charge her for it in addition to banning her. To be clear, I'm saying dump ALL of the bottled water in the rooms.
Absolutely out of order!! It blows my mind and you said it best Jay…some folks are ”dipped in stupid!”💯 #❤️thechannel-Always 👊🏽

Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes😡😡 I only went to Jamaica once because we had the same experience. The men were following us around, and I was uncomfortable. Needless to say I cut the excursion short and went back on the ship and never went back.
Totally agree about Ocho Rios. I was just there on a cruise and because the dock was damaged in February we docked somewhere else (I think in the industrial area) and not a lot of vendors but many cabbies and people trying to get you to push whatever on you and I was walking myself but I tell you, it just was not worth it. After 20 minutes I turned around and went back to the ship. If your stop Sochi Rios then I think you should book an excursion. Don’t walk it
That's why I don't cruise on Carnival. Not that other cruise lines are immune to this stuff , but other cruise lines have a better class of passengers.
Ban her and then charge her for poisoning others.

I've only been to Jamaica (Falmouth) once before years ago. It was a great time for me and my mom. The excursion was through the cruise line. I would love to go back there one day, but again it would have to be through a cruise line excursion, and never through a third party 😅!
I just got off a cruise last week and if I recall correctly, my cabin had a couple of plastic disposable cups in the bathroom so we could drink from the sink if we wanted. I don't think Carnival would encourage us to drink from the sink if it was gray water.
Thank you SIR, you have become my cruise compass.
If more people would refuse to tolerate crimes of ALL kinds & say something, until they are heard, criminals are exposed, no longer able to escape consequences, this BS would slow down.
Jay, check your cruise water information. The water coming from the tap in the bathroom is NOT gray water it is potable water!!!
On most ships, filtered water can be had for free in the gym, where I think the water fountains use a filter. On some ship they had a typical filtering thing where it would quick-fill your waterbottle.
Thanks for explanation around 3:36. I honestly didn't understand what was happening in the video.
Hi Jay Actually the tap water is perfectly safe to drink on all cruise lines. It is no gray water! Love your vlog :-)

That’s not the point. What if she drank out that water bottle and had herpes? Then someone came right behind her and drank out that same bottle? Shame on her for even posting that. Herpes is passed by salvia.
Not true! The water provided in ALL the sinks, drinking fountains, taps, etc is purified sea water (search-there are many videos). The engineering crew runs a water purification system on every ship that takes sea water and processes it for human consumption. The engineers on the ships will tell you they water they produce is of higher quality than bottled water. So while re-filling the water bottle is disgusting, the water from the sink is perfectly safe to drink. The sewer water is also processed and cleaned to a very pure status. It is then released into the ocean while at sea.
Thanks Jay. The #1 cruise youtuber. Keeps it real 💯
I've always thought leaving the items in the mini bar, including water bottles, was gross due to potential tampering. I would walk to a bar and purchase exactly the same rather than drink or eat them from the room and it has nothing to do with cost.
1. She should be banned. Tampering with a consumer product is a 2nd degree felony. 2. Jamaica is beautiful. One of my favorite places is Montego Bay. Do your research, plan and enjoy!
Don't drink the water unless it is your complimentary bottle that you get for VIFP level. You pick that up at the bar. Don't drink the water on the counter unless you plan to pay for it. Now that I've seen this video, I want the cabin attendant to remove any water that is in my cabin. She should get some type of santion for that even if it is a joke. They should have some way of knowing who she is and send her a notification to ban her for a certain period or for good and they should publicize that they did punish that behavior.
I was only in Jamaica once, many years ago. Our ship was rerouted to Falmouth because of a storm in Belize. We took a very good ATV excursion through the cruise line, but I do remember the port was terrible. People all over the Caribbean try to sell you stuff, but in most ports they are generally satisfied with a simple "No, thank you" and they leave you alone .Since then, I have never booked a cruise that stops in Jamaica.
Good advice for Ocho Rios. We'll be going in November but have an excursion planned. Hopefully that will help ward off some people.
1. She should definitely be banned. Think of all the people with compromised immune systems that could be affected. Just leave it alone if you can’t afford it. 2. As for Jamaica, as a Jamaican myself I won’t say don’t get off the ship. Get off, get a tour guide, go explore and have fun. But as you said, don’t entertain the conversation, because, we will definitely talk you into something. Jamaica is a beautiful island full of rich history, don’t let the few ruin it for you. Enjoy your vacation.
She filled it up with the tapwater that’s not gray water
Snitching is different. Snitching is when you commit a crime with a person and then implicit them.

This happens more often than people know! It will make you think twice the next time you have that bottle cap on the health drinks that are so tight that it feels glued...Maybe it is. Simply putting the a plastic paper around the tops would be helpful in stopping this kind of fraud. But, I suspect that she ended up buying the bottle or carnival would have come out with a letter because this is very serious.
She should be banned and sent to jail for tampering. You don't know what else she could have slipped into that bottle.
Oh J, Ocho Rios is a mess. I’ve been a few times and when my wife and I went she was the target of the vendors because she’s from Haiti so they tried to push. However we are shrewd people so we have no problem telling people no. I also had to correct a few men that spoke a little too familiar to her and I think that caught them off guard but made my point. You’re right you get harassed from the time you leave the gate until you return.
When our cruise stopped in Ocho Rios, Jamaica we hated it! The people working the cruise ports were very aggresive and pushy. Several people stopped me wanting to braid my hair. Others tried to sell me drugs! We were even followed to the little shops area when we tried to buy suvioners. My husband and I felt very unsafe. If we didn't have a river rafting excursion booked, we would have went back to the ship and stayed there.
We took a zip line excursion in Jamaica 🇯🇲 and enjoyed it. Friendly people for the most part, especially the young group helping us. I wouldn't just go walking around, as crime is pretty high, but we felt safe on our excursion..
I literally have no words. Some people always have to try and "buck the system." They always make people with the best intentions suffer for their stupidity.
She needs to be banned for sure.
I can guarantee you that gray water is NOT coming out of a facet! Why do they have glasses if it’s not for human consumption?

Exactly! That's what I'm really concerned about.
There are 3 levels of water. Black water (human waste) grey water shower, kitchen etc. and clean. On Royal tap water is clean and is absolutely drinkable. If carnival is pushing non potable water through its taps another reason to avoid them.

They aren't, he just doesn't know what he is talking about.
Ocho Rios is my least favorite cruise port for this reason. I grew up vacationing in Mexico so am well-versed in dealing with pushy vendors, but Jamaica is another level entirely. In my experience, it can move from pushy to scary very quickly (and sometimes from souvenirs to illegal drugs). It's a shame because Jamaica is beautiful! Even at Dunn's River Falls, they allow vendors inside the park near the entrance/exit, who badger you, so excursions do not exempt you. After our first time there, years ago, I promised I would never get off the ship at Ocho Rios again, but when we were there two weeks ago, I only agreed to book an excursion because the kids had never been there, and I didn't want to deprive them of even a limited experience in a new country, since I knew we'd ultimately be safe, just annoyed. Now moving forward, we will consider Ocho Rios a free "ship day". Regardless of the port, I do not wear jewelry, period, not even a plain wedding band, and I do not carry a fancy purse or wear heavily branded clothing.
