Cruise Irvine action! Hillbilly spec grass drifting :-) Cavalier CD gets some paint and polish too

We headed west to a huge car cruise meet in Irvine at the end of May. The Cavalier CD even got some paint and a polish as a special treat!
It was cold and windy but plenty of cars on show and some interesting driving on the grass field which we're not sure was actually supposed to be happening. It's all good fun!

Thot the very same, all it took was some 🤡 to lose control on that grass and plough into the people watching near by. It happened a while back down South.

Yes! I’m going to enjoy this one! I used to live about 10 minutes from Irvine.
The MK3 Fiesta came out on F reg but the XR2i was introduced 1990 on a G so that would be one of the very first.
I had a Silver SRi around 1999 ish - still got a few pics of it, if I had a few spare days off work and wasn't being a Dad I loved cleaning it, could easily spend 3 full days just messing about and it would end up looking brand new, few pals would take the piss over how clean it looked. Always been a sucker for detail and done valeting in EK in the late 80's for a while. Cheers again fella.
Amazed that none of the cars ploughed into the crowd. Reminds me of the anarchy at the old PV shows at Santa Pod. I had to pack up my tent quick as a Cavalier was driving through them all, occupied or not! I'm too old for all that now 🙈😄

It was building up to something happening, the driving was getting more and more wild, especially the Golf. Prob just as well his tyre popped when it did 😂

The back end stepping out on the nova definitely had a lot to with his fuel pipe issues. Petrol dripping on back wheels would be my guess!

Good to see the passion for cars of all types is still alive and well. I do love Sam's Astra Merit. That MK3 shape still looks great, especially as as a 3 door. Also, great to see there were no reports of stung bellends this time

Some nice cars. That bmw e28 shark nose..... Some bawbaggery as well. That Golf was pushing it, just as well he popped a tyre. I've got one, they're heavy lumps, he seemed determined to bounce it onto its side.🙄 Revvers to 90000000 rpm.... in a yaris 🤪

Hi from durham dougie👋👍 great little session this 1👌 I agree with you at end tho abusing ppls hospitality allowing to pose an event then ppl tearing up grass🤔 but yeah all cars in grass got shown up by that golf😂 he was at his own event👍 and think damage started when he launched the car and nearly launched that passenger out window probs bent arm and rack end for laugh😂 great job on yours tho looks FAB again especially with that scratch gone some horrible ppl out the keying cars😢 and when you showed clellend at end I follow a guy on yt called twin engine corsa hes been playing with that cavvy rear wheel drive too 👍 with few others on the tracks👌 good times and thanks for your time and be safe see you soon 👍👋

Great Video Dougie, I wanted to make this but had just come back from the Furious Driving Social the day before in Yorkshire! I heard a rumour that this might be the last one ,seen pictures of a rolled quad. Apparently a lot of people pitched up early even through being told not to. I have a quick little walkround round that Crown Vic Police Car coming tomorrow on my channel and Sam's Merit is in fantastic condition. Love Bob just chilling in the sun!

Yeah I heard that too. Problem is that it's so busy and people want to park up with their mates in a decent spot, so it's necessary to arrive earlier and earlier to claim it. Having said that we never got there til late afternoon and got parked ok. Not surprised if a quad rolled!

@@DougieSRi before all the lockdown stuff it was called big in dundee was the main show in dundee for years its the end of july its all over facebook always a bit turn out people from up and down scotland come down with all the clubs in big convoys
