    I had the Vulkan, but I upgraded it to the Crucible, I have a lot of Capital ships and Crucible made more sense to support them. Also I expect the Crucible to get a huge price increase and possible size increase when finally in production.

    For combat scenerios the vulcan looks like the better option. But the crucible looks like it may be better for stratigic assults. For exMple you could use the crucible as a drop ship for your tanks. Leaving a repair bay behind for battlefields repairs. Where the vulcan cant do that. It really depends on how you plan to use the ship.

    Yea it'll be really cool seeing how both pan out on release! I can definitely see good combat scenarios for both of them to excel!

    I really do think it comes down to use case, I think the Vulcan will shine in "local services", where as the Crucible is ideal for traveling as part of a fleet.

    I'm inclined to agree, at least in fleets that can't dock a Vulcan internally!

    I'd have to give it to the crucible for being able to repair anything and still has the drones that the vulcan relies on. Best use case for the vulcan would be, emergency front line repairs. I'd want the crucible for everything else. Excellent video 👍

    My thoughts are sticking a vulture in the Crucible fly to the needed customer repair them then use the vulture to regain materials from the none winners LOL to keep costs down and make I higher profit. but the dream of flying to someone's help feels a long wat off same goes with the Crucible and the Vulcan in regards to getting them in game

    I'm not much into repair, but the Crucible could double as a poor man's Liberator, or a pirate who offers to repair ships, then shoot the pilot and take the ship. I like the size and look of the vulcan and though I wish it had more cargo, I can still see it as a pretty good exploration or daily driver ship. After all it can fix itself and probably has fuel for days!

    Crucible will be an excellent support vehicle for racing as well. That's one of the reasons I got one and another is I'm going to need to repair my (solo) fleet up to a BMM and will be able to do pickups and ferrying and taking salvageable ships. Thinking about xenothreat $$$lol

    I go with the Vulcan, nimble well armored and one of the best utility vehicles of the verse. It may be not has the best shield but knowing that the drones can repair drones (and the ship it self) as long as someone with me i dont think i have anything to fear. . . well execpt ships capeable to kill me with a single shoot. 😅 The only thing i dont know is: where is the 4 size 2 at the front. 🤔

    We have more chance of seeing the Orio/Endeavor in game than the Crucible, the Vulcan has at least a chance before 2025/6 and looks to be loads of fun .We will see

    Got a feeling the majority of the repair systems for these 2 are gonna be beams as it's easier to code. I wonder how they will handle the drones

    T0 repair will be beams, unfortunately, seeing how Salvage turned out. But I do believe drone gameplay is possible, they have the functioning flight/EVA system already so it is not so outlandish to make drones flyable.

    I don't really feel they compare that well tbh, sure they serve the same purpose but the the Crucible can do things in a way a Vulcan can't and the Vulcan might do things in a way that doesn't really make sense for a Crucible to do. All in all I own a Crucible and think it's an essential part of every larger fleet whereas the Vulcan would just as essential in that same fleet working alongside it or servicing smaller fighter squadrons in something like a roaming fleet! I love them both dearly though, and much like the Starfarer these guys will make or break ships/battles.

  • @ViciDeum

    @ViciDeum

    Congrats on your pickups! These two are definitely different tiers of support ships, but I like this comparison given their roles. And I agree, especially in long-term engagements, support ships like this will be invaluable!

  • @Zeoran

    I'm worried about the Vulcan. With what they've already said about the Polaris, they want a ship that refuels/rearms another to have external fuel & ammo to do it with. The Vulcan has no place to store these. And they've already covered with the Crucible, that they want repairs to need raw materials. So the Vulcan can likely only do very, very basic surface-level repairs. They're going to have to re-think the Vulcan or it's going to get massively nerfed. I own both ships though.

  • @ViciDeum

    Those are great points, and I’m not sure what they’ll do with the Vulcan. But I trust CIG will find some creative solution or lore “workaround” to ensure it keeps its intended role!

  • @ViciDeum

    @ViciDeum

    The scores aren’t bad, even if they look it haha. It’s not linear like a test, but more deviations from a standard. So a score of 12.5 would be average, or a ship that might just be specialized in one area but lacking in others!

    @@ViciDeum i'm talking more about how you usually present the ships with very positive and grand word choices. It's more like a CIG ship commercial than a buyer's guide since the explaination of the ships seems to lack a lot of critic.

    No way the vulcan stays that size with so much utility. It’s like packing all that stuff into a Ford Ranger when you need a fire truck. It will get at least twice as big. Look at the Starfarer, its 101 meters and only refuels. No way the Vulcan stays at 38.5 meters.
