@Kat-zj5kd No it wasn't. Ronnie played well, he just buckled under pressure and started having little tantrums - like he always does on the rare occasion someone fronts up, which Bingham did.

Jak wasn’t playing slow, per se. If I remember correctly, Judd’s shot time was slower than Jak’s. The balls just went awkward quite a lot of frames and didn’t present the usual standard layout for high breaks.

Jak’s shot time just 2 seconds slower than Judd, just 4 seconds slower than Ronnie in his match against Bingham. But he’s quicker by a few seconds than Higgins in his current match and Gilbert in his…So a bit unfair by those who are too quick to label him slow, he’s not lightning fast obviously but plays at a reasonable pace when in the balls. You have to appreciate he’s also battling a player who’s 40 or more ranking points ahead. He’s shown a lot of good ring craft, and ultimately Judd folded under the pressure of playing a guy he should’ve beaten and just couldn’t get the better of…Well done Jak great result

I suggested to a pal before this match began that Judd would find it hard to cope with Jak's rather slow pace. This in no way is a criticism of Jak Jones. Some rely a lot on rhythm, others not so.

I'd agree with thst but I also think that the tables are not quite as they should be? Cloth and cushions seem slow and unresponsive and the top players seem to be struggling getting decent breaks together like you'd expect them to do. Lots of running short on position and a lot of the cue ball needing to be cleaned as well.

Despite Ronnie going out as well, there is no doubting who is no.1 and who is no.2 . If Trump doesn’t add to his number of triple crown wins he’ll risk becoming the Jimmy Connors of Snooker.. Trump could well win more tournaments than anybody else, but not the ones that really count if he wants to be regarded as one of the five or so best players ever to have played the game. Love watching them both play by the way. Trump has the ultimate ability, his one and only WC against Higgins was one of the most high quality games ever to be played. Shame to see them both go out , but it’s refreshing to see such an open draw now.

I have never seen Trump play like that. Jones was only slightly better. That was the worst standard of snooker I have ever seen on tv. Looked like two guys in the local pub having a game. Was it the table? What the heck was all that about? With that standard there is no way Jones going any further in this tournament. He just came up against a woeful Trump. Lucky boy!

Fair play to Jones, He has done well. However (and he is not the only one), but he/Gilbert (& Bingham to a lesser extent) Although he is a proven (albeit) sporadic Winner are symbolic that a 20 event ranking season just compromises the WC. I haven't checked Bingham's or Gilbert's full results this season but JJ has only ONCE gone beyond the 2nd Round of an event this season (Welsh open QF) So the guys who have done all the Silverware lifting or gone deep in most Tournaments (JT & ROS & MW to name but a few) are "played out" when the WC rolls around. They all looked, And played, Flat. The old format old WC qualifiers in March & a 3 week break between the end of the China Open was better. Calendar has too many "Samey" non entity Tournaments (mostly the ITV ones) so WST (Hearn & Co) can sell them to various companies. Judd & others have rightly been vociforous critics (and rightly so) as unless you play in most of these events you risk your top 16 status. It's no wonder a breakaway Tour is being mooted tbh......
