I ❤ your Raven painting. There old legend told by my people, the indigenous people of this land as to how the raven why the raven is no black when you look at them in bright light. it color. The tale goes like this. When the great creator made all the animals, he asked them to pick out what color they wanted their coats to be. There were many bowls with every color imaginable placed out for each animal to choose. Each animal picked the colors they wanted. Raven was the last animal in line to choose, so by the time Raven got to pick his colors there wasn’t enough of any one color left, so he poured all the colors over himself. When we mix all the colors together, they appear black, but if you look closely, you can see all different colors. That’s the tale of why Raven is all the color and iridescent when you look at his feathers in bright light according to my people’s story.

Love your work❤️. I live in AZ and our ravens are as large as chickens. I learned that crows have smaller beaks and don’t grow as big as ravens. You’re definitely painting a raven. I love all birds but I have a very strong connection with ravens. Love this! Thank you!❤

It’s definitely a Raven, the painting name is Corvus Corax, which is the Latin name from this species, also in Italiy it doesn’t have a distinct name like in English, both ravens and crows are called Corvi, I think I just got it wrong with my habit of calling them in my own language 😆

I admire your attention to detail, the feathers - all of them. I would have edited the number of feathers and relied on the beautiful underpainting and further accentuated that aspect. Nonetheless, your talent is obvious and this tutorial was worth watching..

Thanks for the reply! It took me a while to thank you because I lost the video! I absolutely adore your style, so dark and full of emotion! Question about your patreon- are they lessons? Also do they have English subtitles? I’m an intermediate water colorist and I like to hear the “why” of this or that. If they don’t have subtitles I may have to learn Italian lol😂
