2:29....how well I remember that first view of the bridge when I was driving that route for the first time many long years ago. I had see pictures of the Key Bridge on tv and it looked scary as hell, huge, high and steep...and I had no intention of going anywhere near it. I had a poor sense of direction and had no idea my chosen route would lead me right to the dreaded Key Bridge. Worse yet, it was pouring down rain that day as I suddenly saw the bridge looming before me and I was quite apprehensive to say the least. Where I needed to go was on the other side and therefore I was going to have to cross it. I gritted my teeth and gripped the steering wheel tight and and made the run for it. But by the time I had made it to the top where the arch was I had a huge sense of relief as I realized it really wasn't the bridge from hell. It wasn't bad to cross at all, even in the rain - it only looked scary from some angles. Then, a couple of years ago when I drove over it (also in the month of May on a nice day) it was a very pleasant drive. I wish I had the opportunity to cross it at least once more before it fell. It will be interesting to see its replacement rising up out of the river. This new bridge might look even scarier than its predecessor as they will probably make it taller!

key bridge was such a wonderful sight coming into the port . the way the structure arched above the water was a wonderful sight to behold, sad to see her go down into the water like that. all that hard work and engineering laid to waste in just moments😢

​@@meamodernoI miss this bridge too! I was just on this bridge last year with my niece who worked at Amazon. I hope when they rebuild the bridge they don't go too far from the original design. Usually they don't rebuild a bridge to look exactly like the original.

They should rebuild it as a cable style bridge instead of a steel truss arch.

That's what they said it would be....only problem is some of those cable stay bridges are down right ugly! Baltimore needs a new bridge but not an eye sore....Hopefully it's something like the Talmadge Memorial Bridge in Savannah or the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Tampa.
