Id love a 3 hour long video of this. I used to think people drew really fast and got very frustrated when it took me forever to draw anything not even half as decent. But your rhythm is calm and confident. Really cool to watch the real thing.

@@larryglatt2548 Train yourself to work on a drawing for multiple days. This will in many ways benefit your patience. You can also tell yourself "I'm going to to get the proportions down first, before I move over to shading" and stick with it. Then move to the next step, shading. Also, don't watch too many things that may shorten your attention span, such as memes or tiktok videos that is amde for the sake of entertainment.

@@Thesamurai1999 Thank you for the suggestions. Fortunately I don't do tik tok or memes, but I do get interruptions from another person lol since I am the tech support in the household..

Mr Dunn... you have really done for me what I thought was magic.... and I see how it was done. I am so humbled and grateful. Every scratch and stroke just made me more determined. I will never be as good as you, but hey..... ? thank you.
First video that gave me asmr.
So relaxing to watch. I just wish it lasted longer. Beautiful work !
Subscribed to you months ago with the intention to start drawing. My procrastination is finally easing it's grip on my mind☺️ and I'm watching art/drawing videos again. I must break FREE

Crosshatching bumpy/rough surfaces like this is so much fun, both to do yourself and watch. I wanna go do a skull study now. Great video man, hope you are doing well.

Man I am using Micron pen 0.1 and 0.005 and 0.5 point dimension. When making crosshatching a lot of ink flow from its point especially when drawing small scales like A6.. is it the pen or something I am missing? is the dip pen works better for hatching?
It's kinda easier for me to do it long video format rather than short. I suck at drawing skulls and I was only doing this in pencil.
I can't wait until I'm able to draw like this!
Boa noite de quanto a quanto tempo vc troca o bico de pena
What kind of pen tip is it that’s round and long? Like inch and a half... and is it in the crow quill family? Seems to need a different holder than other nibs...
@alphonsodunn

Yes it is a crow quill nib, Hunt 102. You need a crow quill holder or pen holder with a ferrule that can hold those types of nibs
Please draw a portrait using graphite pencil
Drawing with dip pen requires much patience. But I love messing with it!😁

Hey, can someone tell me what are the tools or kind of pens and paper used to draw this? I am new to the whole thing

if i want to frame my ink art can i use clear coat? or what should i put in able to preserve it?
@BeOurBee

If you're using some brand of India ink, sumi ink, or carbon-based acrylic ink, those are already very permanent. They're almost always water resistant if not almost virtually waterproof, and they don't fade from sunlight. If you're using an alcohol or dye-based ink, like in most colored markers, fountain pen, and colored bottled inks, those are going to fade over time due to oxidation, ambient moisture, possibly UV light, etc. Pretty much no way to stop that from happening. You can minimize UV damage but the others will still slowly cause the dye to break down over time, even if you apply a sealant like clear coat. To preserve the finished product long-term, think about making copies with archival photographic prints. They might last longer than the original.
круто
mestre!
Is there a way I can order your pen and ink book straight from you and not from Amazon. I don’t want to give them commission fees and would rather you get more profit then support Amazon.
Are you that one person on instagram with this? I feel like I've seen this before
I love using dip pens, so watching you work is a treat. Especially your unique style of cross hatching. I don’t believe I’ve seen it anywhere else. Thanks for sharing.
is it normal to hear the scratching voice of nib every time? but drawing looks really cool.

Not necessarily, it depends on the paper, the pressure, the ink, the movement and so on

Alphonso, don't know what happened with the book incident out there a while back but in my view, your still the best instructor out there on Pen and Ink and the most talented. In addition to your books, your videos are the most informative. Been a fan for years and every one of your videos is worthwhile. Thanks.
Only 3 dislike that's a record
who dares to dislike this?!
The 1 dislike is from a person who's mad they can't draw like this.
