CROCS, BARRA AND CRASHES! - Cape Melville to Lakefield National Park, Cape York
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Guys wake up to strong winds at Cape Melville and decide to head further north into Lakefield National park in search of the elusive Cape York barramundi... As usual, nothing goes smoothly and there's plenty of 4wd action in the Landcruiser and BT50 before they can get to the fishing.

Hey guys, loving the trips. How do you keep your gear safe on multiday trips and in remote spots? I get so nervous leaving the van in the sticks sometimes..

Cheers mate!! You just have to leave it and hope for the best mate. We haven't had a problem in the last 10 years. We've had more trouble parking our car on the street out the front of our house lately... 😢😂
Love the vids boys. some very familiar spots and some you drove straight past. Pussers?? some familiar slang!! lol

I like how the standard Australian fish release is stand 10 feet away and throw the fish back. No way I'm getting close to that water.

Yeh mate. It’s a standard northern Australia release. After you’ve seen a few big crocs you realise your not the top of the food chain 😳
Magic trip... great Vid

You'll have 3 wheel drive not two with the locker the drive will go to the wheel that isn't broken provided you haven't broken something in the rear
@TrueNorthAdventures

Yeh that’s it mate. Don’t really like driving around constantly with the lockers in though due to risk of breaking stuff. So the trip was basically done in only rear wheel drive unless we got stuck then we’d put the lockers in and have 3wd 👍
200k of rolling stock, that's a BIG plug

Nope sorry mate, cheers for the view.
Good series, really enjoy it, why didn’t you just pull the hub off and have a look at the start?
@TrueNorthAdventures
3 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate! At first we though it was a locker problem and it wasn't until the end of the trip that we realised it was most likely the hub. We assumed it was not going to be fixable on the side of the track without any spare parts for it so didn't think there would be much point pulling it all apart.

@@TrueNorthAdventures usually you can play with the hubs and they will start working again. What was the problem in the end?
@TrueNorthAdventures
3 жыл бұрын
Yeh we stuffed around with it a bit but couldn't get it to engage. Mechanic found that it was so rusted in there that it had locked itself off... So in hindsight we probably could have got it working again on the side of the road with a bit of lanolin.

Thank you. Most impressed with the speed test vs the Jet Boil. I'll look for one for the back of my velocipede.
@TrueNorthAdventures

Cheers mate! It’s was closer than we thought. Don’t think you can beat the induction for speed but the jet boil has it for portability by a long shot 👍
Hey mate, did you work out what was wrong with left front wheel?
@TrueNorthAdventures
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah Steve got all that worked out, he is on another trip at the moment. ill let him know to fill in the details when he gets back probably monday. Cheers, Marc
@TrueNorthAdventures

Hey Mate! Yeh I got the problem sorted. There had been previous water in the free wheeling hub and it had rusted solid so it wouldn't engage when turned. Real pain in the ass but an easy fix when we got back to town 👍 Cheers, Steve
What brand Induction cooktop is it and do you recommend it?

Hi Mark, It’s just one that was on special at Aldi. Ambiano is the brand. I personally think I’d go with a more we’ll know brand next time but I had that laying around so used it. In saying that it hasn’t let me down yet so I can't knock it at all 👍 Cheers, Steve
