Your Opossum is so cute. I laugh every time someone pronounces opossum. Growing up I was taught that the "O" is silent but it's correct pronounced either way. I laugh because I know my teacher would be having a hissy fit to be told either way is correct.

The possum has a furry tail, while the opossum has a bare tail and there is a difference in size, color and type of fur, not to mention a few other details. HOWEVER, both possum and opossum correctly refer to the Virginia opossum frequently seen in North America. In common use, possum is the usual term; in technical or scientific contexts opossum is preferred. Opossum can be pronounced with its first syllable either voiced or silent. The Opossum made here is of the North America Possum. Thank you!

I'm in a few different facebook groups for vendor shows in my area and scams are sadly common. Half of the posts I see are of different people warning each other about which "contacts" for markets are scammers.

I wish say, I really like the premier basix chenille BUT I have gotten some bad batches from premier unfortunately :( The last batch was super pilly and the fluff was falling out! It was so bad!!! Also, on the body, it’s easier and fast to a hdc is read of single crochets. Since it’s not stuffed on that part you don’t need a tight stitch. All of my smugglers I only use a sc on the head, limbs and tails, then hdc on the flat body part :)

hi genna ! about your comment on bernat blanket - did you try it before or after the mass rework ? i wasn't a huge fan of the old bernat blanket either but they reformulated it to make it SUPER soft (honestly just as soft to parfait chunky yarn and sweet snuggles lite in my opinion), so i was just curious to know your thoughts. also, i heard some controversy around premier yarns as a brand recently as well so i'm kind of hesitant from buying from them anyways, i'm a longtime fan and mostly a silent viewer, but i watch every single one of your videos and you were the one who inspired me to start crocheting in the first place (i actually have my first market coming up in a couple months), so thank you for all your hard work and keep it up !

Here is a random crochet pattern that I made- R1-8hdc in mr [8] R2-inc (hdc) [16] R3-hdc all around [16] R4-hdc all around [16] R5-decrease all around [8] R6-in flo- chain 3, slip stitch into 3rd chain from hook, then slip stitch into (front loop) of next stitch. Repeat 7 more times [8 tentacles] R7-close up hole either by using decrease or invisible close method Also you dropped a pin, may I have it?

I have a question. I love the cow mermaid! I saw that you basically had it finished, it looked as if you had it all closed up....how did you get the eyes in? All my safety eyes go in before the stuffing and closing so they stay in.

Don't feel too bad Genna, I fell for a scam last year. I paid 50 dollars to a "market coordinator" for an event. It was a real event and the email I received was very detailed. I showed up to the event and they didn't know I was coming. Thankfully the real coordinators were the sweetest people and made s space for me to still be there and didn't make me pay them their fee, which was only 25 dollars. I am much more careful now when talking to coordinators.

Hi Genna! Quick question… how do you put on the safety eyes after the head/body and tail are sewn together? I normally put on the eyes while there’s still a gap/hole before the head is finished but this sometimes ends with crooked eyes. It would be great to do it at the end like you did. Thanks!

I know I'm not the person you asked, plus I make sewn plush not crocheted, but I do a test stuff of the head, use pins to mark where the eyes should go so it looks even, mark these spots (but you could leave the pins in if you're careful), then unstuff and use the marks to position the eyes. Then when you stuff properly, it shouldn't look wonky! I know it takes a little more time, but I've found this comes out with better result more consistently with less guess work for me!

Question. How did you put the eyes in the mermaid friends after they were stuffed?

How did you put in the safety eyes after you crochet the head? Did you glue them on? On the cow mermaid

Have you made any pop tarts? I think a jumbo one would be awesome
