What an excellent tutorial! I love the crochet language for each row at the top of the screen - great way to learn, in my experience! going to make this blanket soon! Thanks so much!

Glad it was helpful! A lot of people who watch videos can not read a pattern so I figured putting the pattern at the top helps, but please know that I have to really abbreviate the pattern to make it fit. If you read my written patterns they are a lot less abbreviated.

I came to say this too!! I’m very beginner and it’s very helpful to see the way a pattern would be written along with the stitch! Seriously so helpful

That is a great idea.
So cute! Does it use more skeins with these stitches compared to a double crochet? How many skeins did you use for a teen blanket
@WindingRoadCrochet
Жыл бұрын
I would say that it uses a little bit more than the double crochet but it has smaller gaps between the stitches. I don't have a teen blanket size but there are 8 sizes included in the written pattern post. www.windingroadcrochet.com/crochet-throw-blanket-pattern/
Beautiful pattern. Do you have a link to another video on how to transition to a different colour on the length not on the width. I want to make a sock monkey/ wool sock themed blanket where I would it to be speckled grey to cream, red then finish with cream with the knit look going through same way as a knit sock if that makes sense. Would there be a way for me to make this pattern in panels and attach?

Here is a video tutorial for how to change colors with any stitch. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gnerrsh-nrbcaMo.html I would work it all as one piece and change colors as you go.
Would love to see this pattern using 2 colors. I could improvise but not sure if I should color switch after a HDC or Half yarn over row. Any suggestions?
@WindingRoadCrochet

Either would be fine. I would just change colors every 2 rows for easier weaving in.

Also how do you check your gage? I have only made baby blankets up to this point 5 baby blankets
@WindingRoadCrochet

Start the project. Then after you have worked up part of a row measure how many stitches equal 4 inches. Do not stretch the piece while measuring. You are looking for 7.5 inches to measure 4 inches wide to get the same size blanket that I made. If the gauge is not correct then you will need to adjust your hook size.
I’m trying to make a throw with all the same color yarn how do I add a new yarn ball into the project
@WindingRoadCrochet

This is a video by a friend. Adding new yarn is similar to changing yarn colors. Check out the 17 second mark to see how to add new yarn. kzread.info/dash/bejne/q59nyLZ9aLTImrw.html
How long would it take to make a twin? Wanting to make a blanket as a valentines gift but am worried I won't have enough time!
@WindingRoadCrochet
4 ай бұрын
That is a good question but sadly the answer is personal. The yarn is super thick so that really speeds up the project but I know it took me 2 days at least to finish on skein of yarn but I was not tracking how much time I spent on it. The best way I know is to work on row and time yourself then multiple that by the number of rows. Then remember that you estimate is only crocheting time and not any resting time.
How do add on more yarn to continue the blanket I am making a California king size blanket for a friend...?
@WindingRoadCrochet
10 ай бұрын
When working a stitch, just yarn over with the new yarn leaving about 6 inches of yarn end so you can weave it in.
How well does the fringe do when washing and drying?
@WindingRoadCrochet
5 ай бұрын
For this yarn it does just fine, but putting on fringe takes so long that I often just leave it off.

I want to make this with the stripes parallel with the short end of the blanket- what would that change?
@WindingRoadCrochet

You would have to work less chains to begin with and work more rows.

Can we use any weight yarn for this project ?
@WindingRoadCrochet
Жыл бұрын
You could. You will need to adjust your starting chain and how many rows you work. Only a super bulky yarn will work up with the number of chains and rows provided.
@kaycee6036
Жыл бұрын
@@WindingRoadCrochet How would you figure that out? I will be using a 87 yard/7 oz yarn/6 super bulky for either a full or queen size blanket.
The hardest part was threading the needle!
@WindingRoadCrochet

I can understand that. The blanket yarn is a thick yarn. I keep some plastic needles on hand just for this type of yarn.

@WindingRoadCrochet

44 pages? Are you trying to print the pattern. Websites are not very printer friendly. I am not sure how to tell you what page the pattern is on since it is a website, but I can tell you that the material list starts about 1/3 of the way down the post and the pattern starts about 2/3 the way down the post. If you are scrolling down the page, the pattern starts right after the video tutorial.
