Crochet Stylish Ribbed Hat Part 1 | Flat Circle Pattern

Crochet this super easy brim hat pattern. It's mainly consist of double crochets, front post double crochet, single crochet, front post treble & single crochet together. This is the flat circle part only.
Yarn used on this tutorial:
Medium 4 weight yarn, 100% low pill acrylic. About 200 yards.
Crochet hook: 4.0mm
Flat circle diameter- 6.75inch

Notes:
When crocheting the front post double crochet, pull up the loop a little higher. It helps the post stitches look neat and to avoid big hole in between of DC & FPDC.
How to make a chain ring: Slip knot & Chain 4. Slip stitch tightly to the first chain to form a ring.
If you prefer a magic ring. It's fine too. For me, I like the chain ring then I don't have to secure or weave in the beginning tail. So far I don't have problem with it.
Hat's size: 21.5 inch(stretch not included).
If you need to make it smaller, stop at round 6 or used smaller hook 3.5mm to 3.75mm. If you use a thinner yarn, just continue increasing until you have 6.75inch diameter flat circle.
Gauge check:
Two rounds - 2 inch diameter

I also used a plastic folder as an insert in the brim to keep the brim in shaped. I will show this on part 3 video.

This is my second pattern with this style of hat. This is the easiest one and my favorite. I make the hat and brim separately. If you need just the brim and attach to your existing beanie. I crocheted two of this with my left over yarns. I gave one to my granddaughter & she loves it. Thanks for sharing.
The first one i made i had to take out because i could not find what i needed to fill the brim. But now i learned to make the brim without a filler. Now i will try again.. ❤ it's a beautiful hat. Thank You.❤

Wish I looked good in hats lol. You always have such nice hat patterns. Will have to be a gift. Since you use Bates hooks, I always know what size from the color you are using lol.

Wool Ease is a chunky 6 weight. It looks like she's using 4 ply here.

Hello Ms Joy, I did try it with mainstays brand cotton. That blue shell color hat with torquoise band and edging shown at :22 on the video. Work good. Just relax the tension. But they are other medium 4 weight has thicker strand. I suggest either Mainstays and I love this cotton. The are the same thickness to me.
