Make a slip knot
Ch4 insert hook in the first ch to form a ring
R1: Pull yarn loosely. No ch1. Make 6 puff st inside the ring.
(To make a puff stitch: Yarn over, insert your hook through the space, yarn over, and then draw up the loop 4x. You should have five loops on the hook then ch1 to close it. Puff stitch is created).
R2: Pull yarn loosely no ch1. Put one puff stitch in the space (1 space backward ), 2 puff st in the next space (forward ) and all the space around. Last space put 1 more puff st to make it 2 puff st. To close the round slip st on top of the first puff st. Total 12 puff st. Now you have Increased 6 puff st.
R3: (Pull yarn loosely no ch1. To start every round, always put 1 puff st in the space (1 space backward) and put 1 more puff st later in the same space every end of the row). *(2 puff st, 1 puff st, 2 puff st) alternate. Repeat pattern all the way around. Total 18 puff st. Increase 6 puff st.
R4. *(2 puff st, 1 puff st, 1 puff st). Repeat pattern all the way around. Total 24 puff sts. Increase 6 puff st.
R5: *(2 puff st, 1 puff st, 1 puff st, 1 puff st). Repeat pattern all the way around. Total 30 puff sts. Increase 6 puff st.
Note: the number of rounds for increase it depends on the circumference of your head. If you have small head circumference you do only 4 rounds of increase, medium to large 5 or 6 rounds. Every round have increased 6 puff st.
R6-12: No increase. Put one puff st each space all the way around. Total puff st (small 30, medium to large 36 or 42). It depends on how depth/height of your hat ( +/- rows ).
R13: change hook to smaller size. Ch1 sc in the same st *(Sc all the way around on top of puff st and in every space). To close the round, sl st in the first sc.
R14: Decrease: first thing you have to do whatever is the total of your st divide it into 6 or 8…then every 2nd st from the last st and the last st 2 sc together. Repeat pattern all the way around.
For the visor
R1: Ch1, sc in the same st. *( 2 sc next st, 1 sc next st). Repeat pattern until you got 31 sc (8” inches wide).
R2-10: Decrease: Ch1, turn, 2 sc together, sc each st until you reach to the other end, 2nd st from the last st and the last st, 2 sc together. Do the same in every row until you have only 13 scs left for the last row. Then cut the yarn and hide/weave the tail.
R11: Fold hat find the center of the back of the hat (pls.watch the video). Make sc until you reach to the visor part. Every corner (4 corners) of the visor put 2 sc together (increase 1 sc).
R12: do the same.
R13: optional. Sc all the way around.
Belt: find the center of the visor (pls wach video) put a stitch marker.
R1: ch46. Sc 2nd chain from the hook and all the way across. Total 45 sc.
R2: ch1, dc in the same st, dc all the way across. Total 45 dc.
R3: ch1, turn, sc all the way across.
R4: slip stitch al the way around. (Edging part).
As you noticed, I didn’t put holes for the buttons because the hole in between two stitches is just sufficient enough to insert the button.

Hi Annalisa. Thank you for visiting to my channel 🥰. Every round on the puff rows I am not putting a ch1 to avoid having a seam which is very visible, i sl st instead in the first st on the first/beginning puff stitch of the row on top. And then When you start again the next round just pull the yarn loosely and start the first puff st 1 space backward instead of forward. I hope you understand my explaination 😁. Please let me know if you get it, ill be happy to explain more ☺️ 💕.

Hi Karen thank you for visiting. My suggestion is to double the yarn (make two strands instead of 1 because that’s too thin for me). Is it no.3 light yarn you got 4oz? And use the same needles the ones on my tutorial video. For me that’s just right for the thickness it’s not chunky. Enjoy crocheting 🥰.

  • @LAACrochet

    @LAACrochet

    2 жыл бұрын

Hi Aquilia, thank you so much for visiting my channel 🥰. I haven’t tried 8ply yarn yet but i think it works. I have here cotton yarn but 4ply only, i tried to double the strands using J/10-5.75mm it’s okay but it’s a kind of hard to handle especially if you are a beginner. If I were you, use acrylic yarn very easy for you to handle. If ever you really want to use your 8ply cotton yarn, just check on the label of that yarn there is a recommended hook size stated. Just use the recommended hook size. And probably you need to adjust the number of stitches if that is not the same thickness yarn on my tutorial. You either reduce or add the number of stitches and/or reduce or add more the increase rounds.

I turn the volume down and listen to my audio books while viewing these videos-…(and I speed up the videos that show more of the creator talking vs creating😂). If captions are available they can be vastly entertaining when from another language…either way, their provided music is rarely enjoyable to everyone. There is only one crochet artist who bothers to use quality, soothing music to go with her magnificent work…but mostly, it’s wise to just listen to your own and let these creators do their own thing-it’s their video.
