Only a few years late to reviewing this tomahawk, but better late than never, I suppose.

Good review, you pointed out the pros and cons. Got the woods kangee and agree with you.I had to modify it to realy like it.I removed a lot of metal from the blade,to get it lighter and made a thinner edge profile .The spike works a lot better when you sharpen the "edge" ,the american tanto edge that it has. I also made a realy long handle,33 inch,to get the chopping power of a two handed camp axe.
Any recommendation on a boarding axe?
Great review. Thanks, agree with most of what you said. I made a mistake: When I ordered it I didn't pay attention to the weight. Indeed much to heavy for tactical purposes. But I like the shape and the pike is probably good for destroying things like wooden boxes, pallets, doors. Maybe I change of the pike as well. Yes, maybe the Chogan would be more value....?
a hatchet is a tool a tomahawk is a WEAPON.
