To this day, I find it weird that they are called the NY Giants and NY Jets. I thought it was even more odd that the Jets would call Giants Stadium home. It would be like the Mets calling Yankee Stadium home. A Giant Stadium staff once made a joke, and said that the Bills are the only NY based team in the NFL, lol!

i'm still shocked how the new york jets kept their name even after 9/11.

Both NFL teams for the NYC market play in Jersey, and the Green Bay Packers are the OG "named after the sponsor" team in the US as they were originally created as a team sponsored by the Indian Meat Packing company.

It's nice to feel like we're something special, with the Benz and especially with the Cup, but it's also much nicer when we can show our hospitality and true love of The Game to visiting supporters.

@@confusedcowboy I don't blame them, MLS relies too much on lesser and/or older players from those leagues. That's also why I understand why America has such a hard time filling out a competitive national men's team - US-born players don't really have a professional league in which to truly develop their skills, appearances aside. I do think the problem is deeper than that, though, it probably comes from the same place that has caused soccer mom porn to be the most prolific contribution the sport has made to the American cultural consciousness.

So far, the only MLS stadium that I have been to is Audi Field, in D.C. (I currently live in VA). I was there for the playoff game, last season, when my Columbus Crew beat D.C. United in PKs and I was there for D.C. United's home opener, against Atlanta United FC. It is a really nice stadium and does not seem to have a bad seat in the house. The view of the Capital Building, on a clear night, is always pretty awesome. I hope to get to a game at MAPFRE Stadium, before the Crew moves into their new stadium.

So many stadiums planning on opening! Might need to update this video down to road

Two major issues with the Orlando segment: 1. The Citrus Bowl pic you have is pre-renovation. The west side stands are completely new and the renovations are complete. For MLS, its just too big. 2. Orlando is NOT in South Florida. It's very much Central Florida.

Cover supporters groups. MLS has a wide variety of them with some interesting history, plus it's something wholly unique in American sports

My football club got a curse out on us by gypsies when we moved to our old ground in 1895, but we ended up being quite successful there and I think they got some gypsies to remove the curse later on

15:56 that is actually a positive for soccer as it ramps up the atmosphere and gets the players hyped up. A lot of the big European stadiums, including Anfield and Signal Iduna Park, are also designed like this.

I work down the road of 95 in Wilmington and sometimes have to drive through chester to get to the bridge. You drive with the doors lock and YOU DONT STOP AT STOP SIGNS!

Checketts was still majority owner when RSL temporarily broke the Utah bridesmaid curse in 2009. He was still majority owner until prior to the 2013 season. But no matter the owner I still love the Riot!

Then again Yankee Stadium does host the Pinstripe Bowl as well. But I do agree that the Red Bulls should move to New York or just be renamed to New Jersey

Great Video.I have been to the Orlando City Stadium for a game. There is no Parking like you said! I had to park in someone's Driveway for $10 and walk three blocks to my gate. But the atmosphere is great!

The tennis stadium at the former StubHub Center is more frequently used for boxing these days.

Kind of wish you mentioned how so many Crew fans and Columbus residents complain about the massive parking lots surrounding the stadium. So many parking spaces and the fairgrounds being right next to it.

10:45 Renovations aren’t planned, they’re underway. In fact, the Timbers home opener is the last one of the MLS season. It’s in June.

Mario Cortes Actually its not really in the middle of nowhere. It’s a suburb only about 10 minutes out of Chicago. A lot of people live in the area. I just think it’s because Chicago really isn’t a soccer town.

The Canadian cup, consists of every professional soccer team in Canada which includes the Canadian Premier League which is about to start its second season, and is expanding to have more teams

I just had the opportunity to visit Allianz for the season ticket holders event. It's gorgeous, I couldn't be more excited to watch games there.

the Surface at CenturyLink is actually wrong. The surface is changed to grass now when the Sounders play. Manly due to the issues with field marking when the sounders made the playoffs and had to host. They would host the Saturday before a Seahawks home game, meaning the Turf, and stadium would have Seahawks markings all over it, instead of the XBOX Pitch markings around the stadium. Sounders ownership got pissed and the MLS demanded that a temporary grass field be laid out for all soccer games from there on out.

You forgot Nashville SC and they played from 2017-2019 in First Tennessee Park which has a capacity of 10,000+ before playing full time at Nissan Stadium (Home of the Titans [NFL]) which has a capacity of 69,000+

Especially covering how some MLS teams used to have actual team names but have abandoned all imagination and reduced their images to the mundanity of being simply “FC” for “Football Club.” Boring. Teams should have actual names, like “Dallas Burn” not generic designations like “Dallas FC.”

As far as Arthur Blank trading the MLS Cup Championship for a SB ring 25 times over, I doubt it. Atlanta United Football Cup has been able to give him the joy in the second year of existence than what the other "football" franchise has given him which has only been grief and disappointment (chokers!)

Would have been nice to mention The Portland Mavericks and/or Big League Chew with Portland's MLS team

Went to watch a Revolution game in Philly, it was apart of the season ticket. We got scarves but were the bus parked was SUPER sketchy. There was boarded up brick building, surrounded by a chain link fence with barbed wire everywhere.

Saputo Stadium actually opened in 2008 not 2012, initially seating about 13,000. It hosted the Impact when the team was in the second division. Also the Red Bulls have won three Supporters Shields, while Dallas has won it once. In most parts of the soccer world, these teams would be champions. Unfortunately in MLS, we have playoffs, undercutting the significance of the regular season.
