In today's video, we show stadiums that have undergone real metamorphoses over the past decades. Some of them are difficult to recognise. But, at least in our opinion, the changes have worked out well for all the venues. To show the full range of stadium developments, we will be on as many as four continents.
Some arenas you know well from the World Cup finals, others you see every day at league games. But they all have one thing in common: massive construction. Here's something to keep an eye on. Morocco are renovating all of their stadiums for the 2025 AFCON and 2030 World Cup. Work has already started...

Really don’t like running tracks around the stadium! Look how far you are behind the goal, especially if you’re sat near the top!

Here's something to keep an eye on. Morocco are renovating all of their stadiums for the 2025 AFCON and 2030 World Cup. Work has already started...
The best upgrade is Wanda Metropolitano. It has changed completely. I'm a Marseillais, born and raised. I see how the renovation changed the stadium, but also the neighborhood with a new mall next to the stadium. But Wanda Metropolitano went from 20k and one stand to something else.

Wanda Metropolitano was not a Football stadium. So it wasn't an upgrade. However, the best upgrade is the Bernabeu.

You need to add El Monumental, Monterrey, Puskas Arena and Stuttgart.
you guys should definitely check out estadio caliente in tijuana which also went thorugh several evolutiosn throughout the years
What's about Stuttgart (Mercedes-Benz-Arena), Kaiserslautern (Fritz-Walter-Stadion) or Dortmund (Westfalenstadion)?
Super renovations...but you forgot to add Italy,Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Uzbekistan stadiums..they got very effective renovations aswell

What they did to Maracanã was a huge crime, as they killed the most mythical place in Brazilian football. In addition to making the stands elitist, they destroyed the pulsating acoustics that the old roof provided. All of this to host measly World Cup matches that did nothing to help the city, much less the country. It fills me with sadness thinking about this!
In list dramatic upgrades in Russia this Gazprom arena is Saint -Peterburg and Dynamo stadium is Moscow

That's a new stadium built in the site of old stadium
I'm always a bit sad when seats and/or a running track is removed even when it improves sightlines for football... The Kiev stadium is definitely the best makeover. It went from a Stalinist concrete mess into a futuristic icon of the city... And it kept its running track/Olympic hosting capabilities...

you should check out Hristo Botev in Plovdiv. stadium went from a communist sh*thole to a modern stadium
Kyiv Stadium….is it still all in tact? Just thinking with the war against Russia. I know Kyiv was targeted!

war in ukraine is nothing compared to the war in palestine where atrocities happen, in ukraine people in kyiv live peacefully and have no real war in their city

Kiev is like Tel Aviv. Aware of the war but not directly affected by it... Gaza or Donetsk on the other hand? My thoughts and prayers and sympathies lay with you!

@@stickynorth yes people in donetsk are getting bombed almost every day by ukrainian forces. donetsk is under russian control and people there support russia
