That is what he calls Mentality. I mean, when you work hard, have such a great team, you win and you still think oh man I am very bad, I need to improve Dramatically... I mean When will people think Positive of themselves? If You work hard, you've to be confident, You've to think you're the best... I don't think Messi is phased at all. You heard him say in tge news conference "they compare us for the press..but I play for the team.." Messi is being Messi and it shows. But Ronaldo is definitely competing, it'd obvious in his attitude and what he says.

In what f***ing world does Ronaldo lack talent? He used to be a showboater and had to tone it down to become more effective on wing and later on goal. The dribbling ability and fancy footwork were there from the start, he just needed to screw his head on! All the hard work was to separate himself from being a world class player to one of the greatest of all time. Which is not something 99.9% of elite footballers can achieve even with the hardest work. People really need to get over this "Ronaldo is a product of hard work" mentality.

@@sgh9114 hello there...well in my humble opinion, messi’s dribbling and playmaking skills are unmatchable, while ronaldo’s heading ability and the knack of producing in tough moments puts him in a class of his own..one is a wizard while the other is a machine...both equally effective...but in different ways...that was my point just to add, i am a ronaldo fan...but i respect and adore messi...it is just ronaldo’s ability to produce in difficult moments and all the different sorts of goals he has scored for different teams in different leagues and for his national team is what makes him my favourite

Not true... the media literally asks him "Do you think your the best?" and he responds in the affirmative. Then the headline is "Arrogant Ronaldo thinks he's the best". This all has to do with Ronaldo rejecting a coke sponsorship, you don't think big money writes headlines and influences people? 💰💰💰💸. Regardless you can't really compare them it's like apples and oranges, or comparing a Keeper with a Defender it doesn't make much sense. Even they know they can't really be compared directly to each other. Messi has had the better career in terms of accolades has also played for much better teams. If Ronaldo stayed with Real Madrid longer or went to City instead of United he would competed directly for more accolades. Also the fact that he plays for Portugal and not Germany or France doesn't help either.

He was gifted while others had to study and study yet they didn’t do as good & he wasn’t just a nerd he was the captain of the wrestling team! Yup natural talent just like some people have photogenic memories there are gifted people natural talent. Yes some studying or practice is always involved but for them comes a lot easier. They respect and admire each other, stop comparing them. They are the best footballers and extremely talented in different ways. They inspire and motivate each other.

It is amazing to watch them play and I am fortunate to be alive to witness history in the making. Personally, both of them are the best and they have alot of strength and weakness regardless of the statistics. There are different and unique and in the end, there is no comparison between the moon and the sun, they both shine in their own time.

They have a mutual respect..❤️ They know they are the best as pomg as they are on playing on the field.

we've been blessed to have football of this high quality for so long! they were spared from terminal injuries and could maintain such an incredible physical fitness despite their age and despite giving their 100% every day all day on the pitch and outside. admirable from both.

It’s incredible. Two completely different characters but both with the same desire expressed in different ways. Messi would not have been as good without Ronaldo and Ronaldo without Messi.
