That’s a valid point, but it also shows real character when you’re humble about your accomplishments and respect all other players. Not saying that Ronaldo is not respectful, but Messi has never bragged about his achievements and has never referred to himself as the best (even though he could rightfully so). He has good character too.

The best example is when he did nothing at the champions league final and right after the match he announced that he was leaving Madrid. Around 2006-7 season, the team started playing more with a 3-man attack which meant he was closer to goal and he started scoring a lot more. The biggest difference for me though, was in 2014-15 season. He drastically reduced his dribbling, played more one-touch football, and focused more on getting into scoring positions than dribbling or running with the ball to create chances. The difference was so noticeable that even the guys making CR7 skills comps on KZread, their videos went from 12+ minutes to about 8 or less. Then later they started adding his passes to make up the extra minutes😅

What made Messi above anyone else, is not just because he is better in a particular sport but his Humility is so amazing. People's reaction to Messi is incomparable!!!

He‘s not arrogant. It‘s obvious that he‘s joking, when he‘s blatantly arrogant. Everything else is just pure confidence. Because there’s one thing he doesn’t do: he never puts down someone else in order to look better. Also he‘s not interested in comparing himself with Messi or other people. Also, he thinks of other people (shares his price money with his medical staff, donates a lot to children). I really like him. Especially now that through my job i‘ve met entrepreneurs and can see winning mindset. He has it. He‘s a very positive person. Not arrogant.

You can call it arrogance, but in reality it's motivation, you don't need to take it to that extreme sure, you probably might not know anyone who takes it to that extreme, but then again there aren't many players like Ronaldo.
