Ronaldo is a great football player. hardworking, leading spirit, athletic and talented. Although this egotistical state has been causing a lot of trouble for him lately, he is one of the best ever. However, it is ridiculous to compare him with Messi. Messi is unparalleled as Peter Drury says, he looks like an ordinary kid, not an athlete, but what he did and doing on the field, no one has ever done before. Despite being 35 years old, his magic continues by getting better and maturing. Even his goals, assists and trophies are pale when compared to his game intelligence and beauty. Messi is definitely the best football player of all time. I feel very lucky to have watched him many times with the naked eye.

Let meaningless awards aside ronaldo is for sure the better goalscorer and has since 2005 the better ratio... not even starting at their ERA. But besides that i heavily disagree that ronaldo is less involved in the game or in terms of playmaking. His main abilities aside(tactical profile, (all) off the ball abilities) he still has a lot of assists, creations. Messi is better in terms of creation (which is one of many categories of playmaking) and therefore also at creation passes. But "general" pass sucessrate is basically the same. Ronaldo is better at crosses... why... you may get it after seeing where he played most of the time at his carreer. Ronaldo is a completely different player and as a analyst i enjoy him a bit more. Mainly due to the fact im analyzing mostly him and he is a player who is much more tactical than any other player in history. I put him right there with the very best including Maradona, Pele, Messi. Although for me and from my experience... the best player of all time in his prime and age is without any dount R9. Did you know ronaldo played in his WHOLE ManUnited carreer as a Midfielder(RM/LM) and even under Mourinhos Realmadrid(4 seasons) as a Midfilder/Winger although he was more focused on goals than a traditional wide winger but wont change the main point. ONLY at Ancelloti till now he played purely as a WINGER Forward and since 2 years as a Striker. While Messi played in his WHOLE carreer as a WINGER Forward(FRW) and in his prime 2010-2014 as a STRIKER(CF) And yes, over the course of their careers Messi has a clear positional advantage over Ronaldo when it comes to goalscoring. Even him "Dropping deeper" is to aid his goalscoring, because he's most effective as a goalscorer when using cut-backs and zone-14 shots. No hate. Because i hear many times ronaldo just sits in the box and isnt involved and so on

Und Mourinho he was a normal winger focusing more on a goals than a traditional winger but still he wasnt a forward winger. But it's pretty impressive ronaldo managed to be the best goalscorer of all time and having a better goals ratio. Messi is only better when you include 2002-2004. But especially wince 2007/2008 or better said their RIVAL ERA although messi being more a striker than ronaldo... ronaldo still edged in goals and goal ratio.

It’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. Messi basically outperforms ronaldo in every stat and has won more ballon dors, golden boots, international player of the tournament, and about 130 motm more in 147 games less. It’s a fact messi is the goat and with his ability I just can’t get how this isn’t clear for a very long time. Ronaldo is amazing but if we look at football ability messi is miles clear. I like ronaldo too but Looks like deep down he is insecure,u dont have to put someone else down to become great…and moreover,its others who judge u if u r the best or not.

Once in our school days we were debating who's the best and there was a team Ronaldo and a team Messi, and we were throwing stats and what not, meanwhile a guy comes and he got to know what's going on and he just said one line "Ronaldo is very skillful he can dribble in 5 different ways against a single defender, but Messi dribbles like against 5 defender in just ONE way and scores and gets the job done, btw when's our drill class starting" We let him know about the drill class and went to our respective rooms and never argued again! Now i won't tell you whom i like but does that even matter now?

I've been stanning Madrid since 2014, and I tell you that most of these things that Ronaldo said were before then, and some are exaggerated too. A lot of people, not just teammates but one incident of a chef too, has said that Ronaldo is quite humble. Y'all still ignore that and try to focus on these media blown things, most of which are exaggerated because of translation. It's a shame.

Have you not seen how respectfully Ronaldo has spoken about Messi in 2019 at the UEFA ceremony? Have you not seen how Ronaldo smiled at Messi and told his son to go and greet him at the FIFA ceremony in 2015. There are countless other instances when Ronaldo and Messi have shared good moments on the pitch together, but the media will never show it. They have a lot of respect, this is just things blown out of proportion

Cristiano always knew Messi was better. Insecure people always talk too much, try to be in the spotlight and constantly seek for approval and validation to fulfill their insecurities. Messi also knew the entire time he is better than Ronaldo, so he didnt need to talk. He just needed to play. Anybody that understands football can easily see the difference in talent. The problem when the inferior player talks too much, is that it eventually backfires, like in the golden shoe case, or the national team trophies. You can tell a lie for a while, but its almost impossible to sustain it over time.

This is a great message u have put here, a lesson for the youth....in life u learn from other people's mistakes, CR7 is a self made machine, lost some respect from some genuine football fans bcoz of his insecurities over messi.imagine he had Messi's humbleness, nobody would be talking about all this back 'n' forth negative vibe, in fact the media only ran with this bcoz of CR7, he started hating on a player who never put him down at all..

Thats recency bias. Messi is the GOAT, then come Pele Maradona and Ronaldo. The World Cup is the icing on the cake, but not necessarily the only factor. Argentina and Brazil have a much better footballing history than Portugal and you know that. Portugal only qualifed for 3 World Cups before Ronaldo and that says a lot.
