MLB wanted him gone long before the allegations. He blew the whistle on Pitchers using substances for grip. When MLB tried to ignore it, he publicly stated he'd be using what they used...and won the Cy Young doing it. I like Bauer, but a lot of the things that make me like him are why MLB was happy to have the opportunity to blackball him.

social media has changed it from "innocent until proven guilty" to "guilty until proven innocent and you'll still be seen as guilty regardless". there's no reason for bauer to be out of baseball, especially given his very open request of "i'll play for the minimum"...other than the fact that it's "guilty until proven innocent but still guilty anyway because it's too late for me to change my opinion now without looking like i was wrong". i'd take him on my team again (the reds) at the drop of a hat for the LEAGUE MINIMUM. has a chance to be an all time great contract to on field performance ratio. even if he's not exactly what he was when he last played (i have no reason to think he's fallen off, it's just for the sake of argument.), he's still more than good enough for a spot in basically any rotation in the league.

I’m a mother of three. I have one daughter and two sons. It’s absolutely terrifying to think how a woman could ruin a man’s life without any proof. Just with words. I have time and time again talked to my sons and told them to please be very careful who they keep company with. Even though my sons aren’t professional athletes this can happen to them as well. That’s what every woman with a son should be looking at with your situation. Women need to use their voices to back men like you and demand that MLB give you the opportunity to go back to work. What if it was one of their sons this was done to. Also I believe that laws should change somehow that someone can’t just make allegations and sue someone for money unless the person is actually found guilty of the alleged “crime” against them. It’s all a money grab. No one has morals or ethics anymore. I hope your career is restored because your innocence is so apparent.

No owner is going to sign someone so willing to delve out personal info like that. You have to blame the players association. The dodgers used this bogus claim to invalidate guaranteed money. Invalidating guaranteed money used to be the one thing the players union would not allow. It's my belief that the MLB started all of this when Trevor outed all of their little darling pitchers (Gerrit Cole, etc.) for using sticky stuff. They needed to punish him for embarrassing them, so they framed him up. Consider the insane length of the suspension when there was no proof. Now there have been several reports of him about to sign to a team, but then they all magically fall through. I think it's because the MLB is telling teams they had better not sign him. He's easily better than 90% of the pitchers in the MLB right now.

@@robertroosa285The pitching thing is part of it, but bauer has nothing to do with the league changing the rules mid season or refusing to provide a standard substance that can be used on the balls (they currently use river clay which makes the balls worse). The players blaming bauer are just really stupid. It also says a lot that we are 3 years later and a few pitchers are still blowing out their arms and crying about grip when nothing about pitching requires that much grip. It sucks for guys that were trained their whole life to pitch relying on a super-tight grip, but the people who did not learn that way are pitching just fine without blowing out their arms.

This sets a dangerous precedence for legal procedure and how companies/businesses are allowed to treat their employees. When someone is proven innocent of a crime, they shouldn't have to suffer just because they were accused. Hell, I don't want my team to have to face Trevor, but being blackballed by the League is pathetic and inexcusable.

yeah...but lets be real about it. He's not blackballed because of that. He's blackballed because he waged a 2 or 3 year ' war ' against MLB for looking the other way when spider tac was being used. called them out again and again. when they still wouldn't do anything to remove it...he joined in using it, got his big deal...THEN....it became a problem, then coincidentally he's suddenly under investigation....NOT a coincidence.
