CREVICE PUMP!!! With Gold Trap

Ойын-сауық

CREVICE PUMP with gold trap, i though it was about time I upgraded my homemade hand dredge/ crevice pump/ yabbie pump.
I’m constantly asked how I made my crevice sucker pump that my viewers see me using in my crevicing videos, so I thought I’d bring you’s along for a step by step process on how to make a crevice sucker pump.

Great design. I really like your thick foam plunger seal. It occurs to me that with just a couple additions, this could double as a clogged drain blow out pump. BTW, Dan Hurd referred me to you. Great channel!

Nice work knucs thought of a nicer finish on the hose clamp stopper on handle just cut another piece of the handle width pvc tube about 10mm long and cut a slit in it so it can be slipped over the handle tube and glue it in place over the handle tube where you want handle to stop nice n neat finish instead of having a bulky hose clamp

Great sucker! I never glue my top cap by the handle. That way I can pull it apart and easily replace my plunger rubber/foam or I can also tighten my bolt to compress it more. I just put a little electrical tape on shaft by cap to make sure cap doesn’t come off too easily. I like how small yours is to fit in backpack. I also like your metal nose piece. Good size to pick up small nuggets!

Great build! I bought a similar sucker, but I modified it. I put a rubber gasket (rather than glue) between the nozzle and the body. The problem when I used mine in a strong current was the nozzle sometimes got stuck between rocks and for force of the river would push on the sucker and snap it off the nozzle. The rubber plumbing gasket offered a bit of forgiveness. Not a problem where you can no longer legally use a sucker in rivers.

Back to the drawing board need lots more ventilation you need suction tube thin metal 5/8 so you can beat on it with your hammer and make it all different shapes it has a good flow your piston needs some work needs to be adjustable in size on a steel rod it handle you can stick your fingers in push and pull of course that's what the glove and you want it heavy enough so it sinks to the bottom whenever you drop it or throw it down A way to lock the gold Ian rubber strap on the handle for the Pistons all the way against the intake and you can keep your gold in it not and not worry You need a screwdriver up your sleeve blue sniffer bulb up your main part of your wetsuit a rock hammer and a Gad bar maybe a plastic oval that you can put up your sleeve that's it and your sniffer tube everything that you carry you got to be able to carry in one hand so if you need to rock Tuff I'm an old-timer with 50 years of experience Hit a lot of creeks move move move don't get stuck in one area unless you're picking up like a quarter ounce an hour. You can always go back and if you're going to work a spot you can bring the right tools and lunch and all that other stuff and just hit hot spots I enjoy watching your Channel. May the gold Gods be with you!
