CREVICE PUMP!!! With Gold Trap
Ойын-сауық
CREVICE PUMP with gold trap, i though it was about time I upgraded my homemade hand dredge/ crevice pump/ yabbie pump.
I’m constantly asked how I made my crevice sucker pump that my viewers see me using in my crevicing videos, so I thought I’d bring you’s along for a step by step process on how to make a crevice sucker pump.

very nice build I am going to use this design Very well designed
Great design. I really like your thick foam plunger seal. It occurs to me that with just a couple additions, this could double as a clogged drain blow out pump. BTW, Dan Hurd referred me to you. Great channel!

Very instructional video Sean, now I hope it pulls out lots of the shiny gold colors for ya.
Great info thanks mate ! ! ! Love the Jackaroo lamp in the background Brother. Heavy pans to Ya ! ! !
That's awsome mate. Can't beat a bit of ingenuity 👍🤘
Your girl is going to kick your ass for doing that in her dining room LOL. Good video, thanks
Great diy video sir. Keep up the good work and heavy pans.
Thanks From the states. I'll definately be building one before my next trip.

Got it built with a test plug but it's not holding after drawing back like I thought it would. Any ideas?
I love the metric and imperial mash-up. I go through this a lot myself. I made one a larger one of these, about the size of a yabby pump. But I really like this smaller one for backpacking. Great video!
nice! easy to build,light weight and adaptable! thanks! 👍
Nice work knucs thought of a nicer finish on the hose clamp stopper on handle just cut another piece of the handle width pvc tube about 10mm long and cut a slit in it so it can be slipped over the handle tube and glue it in place over the handle tube where you want handle to stop nice n neat finish instead of having a bulky hose clamp

Or a slip coupling
We use 80mm diameter pvc pipe and use a tennisball as a plunger seal Cheers from south africa

Yes, these smaller ones are good to carry long distance without the hassle of a big bulky pump, I do also use a 50mm bait pump.

Brilliant tutorial my friend, I will be using it this week to make my own! Thanks!

Thanks bill🤠, I picked up a little 0.14gram nugget with the monster today, you have to try crevicing bedrock with the monster,
Thank you for the information on how to make a crevice pump. I really need one of those so now I'm going to make one. It looks lightweight and portable.
Freaking awesome. Thanks mate!
Good job on the instruction video. Thanks
Spot on mate will make one for myself now.
Thank you so much! Such a great video! I'm going to make one next month.
Great design and excellent easy to follow directions. Might suggest a rag for cleaning your Paws off, some of the Epoxy on the market WILL blister your hide. You needn't bother to ask me HOW I know THAT ! Thought I would add that because it looked like you were wiping your finger near a sensitive area !
Great looking easy to make pump I'm going to copy
thx for sharing your knowledge
Great vid mate 👍
Excellent! Thanks mate, found it.
"Genial"!!!!! Gracias Mister 👍👊👍
Watched your last on this subject, thank you for more detailed vid. Good on ya Sir. Your the shit!
Cheers buddy!
Good video
Great sucker! I never glue my top cap by the handle. That way I can pull it apart and easily replace my plunger rubber/foam or I can also tighten my bolt to compress it more. I just put a little electrical tape on shaft by cap to make sure cap doesn’t come off too easily. I like how small yours is to fit in backpack. I also like your metal nose piece. Good size to pick up small nuggets!
That's a great little invention there Sean ,and that would probably fit in the backpack also , i been thinking of ways too lighten the load especially if you have to hike a long way to get too a spot ,good idea ,i might have to make one ,cheers mate .
Areet man!I give you a shout out on the gate post video.I found gold in a granite gate post next to my house.😂✌

Instant like saved for later. Thanks for the tutorial! I wish i would have a use for this but not in my area sadly. Glad to have this in the pocket though who knows some day i might need it badly.
Great video mate 👌 making one this weekend 😊
Thanks for that Shawn. That will be easier & lighter to carry than a yabby pump. Much bett when I have to duck under a fallen log too.
Great design dude i love it. Now i will make my own one 😉👌🤘🔥
Great, thank you.

Cool 😎👍🇦🇺🍻
thx mate! I've made 2 for the price of one bought one!
Thanks for sharing this fantastic tutorial. Just wondering what type of foam you are using and where it can be purchased? Thanks!
Never pre drill for spade bits.
Great build! I bought a similar sucker, but I modified it. I put a rubber gasket (rather than glue) between the nozzle and the body. The problem when I used mine in a strong current was the nozzle sometimes got stuck between rocks and for force of the river would push on the sucker and snap it off the nozzle. The rubber plumbing gasket offered a bit of forgiveness. Not a problem where you can no longer legally use a sucker in rivers.
Thank's Sean mate what size was the small tube ? and was it metal or alloy,? well done. cheers
Thank you so much. Do you think you could put the materials and lengths in text so if we go to the hardware store we have a nice list instead of having to constantly go back to the video?
A suggestion- It would be an enormous help to first show a schematic of what is intended. As is, the components are a mystery until the assembly takes place. A long wait!
Great diy video.. Does the trap section ever get loose on you and fall off?
@BustedknucklesProspecting
5 жыл бұрын
Over time it will get lose but you can wrap some electrical tape around it to help reseal it
I wish there was a comprehensive list of things I could copy and paste to show the guy at ace hardware

@movingwater9111

Looks like eva or a bit of thong
Sorry I’m missed what sizes did you have for the pump parts I missed
Where did you get the foam? What kind of foam is it? Looks like sleeping mat stuff. And what is the little tubing? Aluminum? Where did you get it?
@BustedknucklesProspecting
5 жыл бұрын
Yes the foam is from a sleeping mats or yoga mats. The tube I used is aluminium tube from a hardware store, you can get it in all different sizes, or you can just use pvc piping a similar size.
What size pipe for the pick up ?.
Hi I’m watching the video but missed the sizes of the pipe and end caps please
it looks like you will not expel all the water and gold from the tube with the long pipe sticking into the inside end of the crevice pump. still like your basic design though being small enough to be able to carry it in your backpack.
What is the tube made from?.

Papa Bear here 😎..... My buddy Rondogg (other half of yellowbottom prospecting) Is gonna love this video.... He’s Mr inventor on gold stuff A new video coming out soon on some things he’s created... Please check it out Thxs
Interesting design, but I have to say that living in Australia must be confusing... You're forced to use "dollars" for currency, the metric system to measure lengths and s.a.e. for drill bits and diameters... I'd lose my mind... lmao
@BustedknucklesProspecting
Жыл бұрын
Our metric system is the best. I can’t imagine using U.S tape measure
Back to the drawing board need lots more ventilation you need suction tube thin metal 5/8 so you can beat on it with your hammer and make it all different shapes it has a good flow your piston needs some work needs to be adjustable in size on a steel rod it handle you can stick your fingers in push and pull of course that's what the glove and you want it heavy enough so it sinks to the bottom whenever you drop it or throw it down A way to lock the gold Ian rubber strap on the handle for the Pistons all the way against the intake and you can keep your gold in it not and not worry You need a screwdriver up your sleeve blue sniffer bulb up your main part of your wetsuit a rock hammer and a Gad bar maybe a plastic oval that you can put up your sleeve that's it and your sniffer tube everything that you carry you got to be able to carry in one hand so if you need to rock Tuff I'm an old-timer with 50 years of experience Hit a lot of creeks move move move don't get stuck in one area unless you're picking up like a quarter ounce an hour. You can always go back and if you're going to work a spot you can bring the right tools and lunch and all that other stuff and just hit hot spots I enjoy watching your Channel. May the gold Gods be with you!
