@142horizon While you are correct that they were not at all under-rated while they were still together 66-71 or so, it was remarkable how their music was almost forgotten from the early 70s till Fogerty’s return to prominence around 1985 with the release of “Centerfield”. I still remember when I arrived at college in ‘78 and how the other kids in my dorm were delighted when I played my LP of Chronicle (a greatest hits LP released around ‘76 or so). Comments like, “Man I used to love that band” etc. were common. I also think some Vietnam movies of which many began to be made around then (eg. Apocalypse Now) used CCR in their soundtracks which also helped to revive their great old tunes.

Very young and enthusiastic audience, completely into the performance. No sign of distractions like drugs. Certainly no hard drugs. At any rate, this is a studio recording set to a concert appearance. The concert was in Oakland, I think.

A mediados de los 70 había en Lanús, Gran Buenos Aires, Argentina un boliche llamado Sala salud. No tenía buena fama, pero había buen rock, con parejas que eran casi profesionales. Cuando comenzaban a sonar los primeros acordes de Pagan Baby los que no éramos muy buenos bailarines íbamos a sentarnos para dejarles el lugar a las cinco o seis parejas superiores, esas en las que el hombre hacia volar a su compañera, la pasaba sobre su espalda, alrededor de la cintura, verdaderos acróbatas. El ritmo se aceleraba y se llegaba a la apoteosis.

Han pasado más de t0 años, desfe que escucho a Creedence y Fogerty en solitario, pero a fecha de hoy sigo sin comprender por qué el sr Fogerty no ha tocado esta pedazo de cancion en sus conciertos; no lo entiendo. Pagan Baby, es una cancion que tampoco se le ha hecho justicia a nivel popular, se merece mucho mayor reconocimiento por parte de fans y critica en general. Allá pir el lejano año del 71 la escuche por primera vez, y me pareció una brutalidad en cuanto al riff de guitarra, el ritmo marcado y el guitarreo que se marca Fogerty a lo largo de la cancion; me parecio de locura total (no quiero olvidarme del amigo Tom, que tambien esta muy presente con su guitsrra ritmica). Hay cosas injustas en la musica, y Fogerty no está libre de culpa, pues hay muchas canciones, tanto en Creedence, como él en solitario, que nunca fueron tocadas en directo, y no se merecian esa suerte, y no voy a mencionar ninguna. Simplemente, lo pongo de manifiesto, porque en ese aspecto, no puedo estar de acuerdo con el sr. Fogerty. Saludos

Cada individuo tiene su Grupo preferido, no significa que sea "el mejor". C. C. R. Significó para muchis una grata sorpresa entre tantos grupos que surgieron a la par. Very young and enthusiastic audience, completely into the performance. No sign of distractions like drugs. Certainly no hard drugs. At any rate, this is a studio recording set to a concert appearance. The concert was in Oakland, I think.

A mediados de los 70 había en Lanús, Gran Buenos Aires, Argentina un boliche llamado Sala salud. No tenía buena fama, pero había buen rock, con parejas que eran casi profesionales. Cuando comenzaban a sonar los primeros acordes de Pagan Baby los que no éramos muy buenos bailarines íbamos a sentarnos para dejarles el lugar a las cinco o seis parejas superiores, esas en las que el hombre hacia volar a su compañera, la pasaba sobre su espalda, alrededor de la cintura, verdaderos acróbatas. El ritmo se aceleraba y se llegaba a la apoteosis.

Yeah, was thought of as being progressive or something back then but was just noise. The rest of the album is sooooooo damn good, though.

Han pasado más de t0 años, desfe que escucho a Creedence y Fogerty en solitario, pero a fecha de hoy sigo sin comprender por qué el sr Fogerty no ha tocado esta pedazo de cancion en sus conciertos; no lo entiendo. Pagan Baby, es una cancion que tampoco se le ha hecho justicia a nivel popular, se merece mucho mayor reconocimiento por parte de fans y critica en general. Allá pir el lejano año del 71 la escuche por primera vez, y me pareció una brutalidad en cuanto al riff de guitarra, el ritmo marcado y el guitarreo que se marca Fogerty a lo largo de la cancion; me parecio de locura total (no quiero olvidarme del amigo Tom, que tambien esta muy presente con su guitsrra ritmica). Hay cosas injustas en la musica, y Fogerty no está libre de culpa, pues hay muchas canciones, tanto en Creedence, como él en solitario, que nunca fueron tocadas en directo, y no se merecian esa suerte, y no voy a mencionar ninguna. Simplemente, lo pongo de manifiesto, porque en ese aspecto, no puedo estar de acuerdo con el sr. Fogerty. Saludos
