    Honestly this whole hipster vibe is just getting up my ass! Specialized is a massive multinational company, not a bunch of stoked guys in a garage making stuff they love to ride for themselves and their friends. There is way too much inspirational lifestyle vibe in this content.

    Are the suspension rising rate figures (suspension curve) going to be released ? Shock sounds like an integrated 'piggyback ' assembly.

  • @matthewlramsey

    Honest question: I own a 22’ Stumpy pro, swapped to a Float X. I’m 230# rider weight. The suspension has always been extremely linear, such that I’m bottoming out regularly with max tokens and 285 psi in the rear. All the talk of the new platform being more linear, relying on the shock design to add progression, with a max rider weight at 240… am I going to run into the same issues as the 22? Was really hoping the new design would have a more progressive leverage rate to help the shock not have to work so hard. Any recommendations are appreciated!

    cascade link with coil shock

  • @matthewlramsey

    @matthewlramsey

    5 күн бұрын

    @@brian6speed no link on the non-Evo stumpy, and limited coils rated for the forces added by the yoke/extension design and side load forces implied. Plus coils are linear, so rely even more on a progressive geometry, which is the base of the original issue - lack of frame progression in the 22’ stumpy.

    In all do respect, I find it funny that you have taken a 4 year old previously developed platform of the Status. Modified it a bit from a down hill, slopestyle, enduro, freeridish platform to a more balanced trail, all mountain, enduro platform. Also now providing it in carbon. Charging asinine prices, lying to the consumers that it's all new design. This leads to the gradual downfall of the biking industry as a whole. I saw this in paintball, the race for innovation while ripping the consumer off with higher and higher pricing led to a drastic decline in new enterents to the sport decimating, retailers, fields, and manufacturers. I know you guys dont give two Fs because you're one of the big 3 monopolies in the biking industry. But even giants eventually fall. There really has to be a major push by the industry as a whole to provide decently speced all round bikes under the 3000 to 3500 US FS and 1500 US HT price point that have middle tear components weighing under 35lbs. Instead, we get cheap brakes, heavy basic suspension, god awful Sram NX or SXshit drivetrains, cheap rims, and cheap rubber. If companies like Polygon can do it, and now hopefully Kona with its restructuring, so can you.

    Leave mechanical setup of suspension, go for electric version, make it reliable and effective and it will be the best suspension in modern era of mtb.
