IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT MICROPHONE MONITOR DELAY: Turning Voice Morpher to "Neutral" does NOT turn Voice Morph OFF. Neutral doesn't affect voice at all, but it still runs the mic input through the processor which causes a delay. SWITCH VOICE MORPH OFF entirely on the main menu and then the mic monitoring will be immediate -- NO DELAY.

Wonderful review, love your format. I bought my GSX1000 a few months because of your review of it, very happy with the decision. Paired it with my Game One's. At the time I couldn't find a good review of the G6 (like this one). I probably would have still gone with the GSX1000 cause I only game and prefer a solution that doesn't require software.

GSX 1000 used with GSP 600, I don't feel like I need anything else. I can feel the bass shake my ears with the volume at 20, setup for 7.1. I might have went for the G6 when I was a bit younger and more willing to blow my head of with absurd volumes. Great job on this video.

I've had my eye on the SBX G6 for a while. Your review sold me. I received it via Amazon, yesterday. I love it for my PS4 Pro. There are SO many sound options on this device. I don't know where to begin.

Superb review! Are you considering expanding towards gaming laptops and smartphones reviews? The Audioquest Dragonfly Red + jitterbug combo sounds interesting as a portbale DAC/AMP for gaming laptops and gaming smartphones, maybe even the Nintendo Switch!

This saved me a lot of time. Got my sub for the straight to the point style and Ill check back for more info on different stuff for sure. Thx and have a nice day!

Recently you showed up on Facebook when I was scrolling through videos and you just happened to be at the right place at the right time. It was the video of open vs closed back head phones and I recently just bought the Arctic pro + gamdac headphones wired. Honestly they sound good but they keep disconnecting from my pc switching from gamedac game to gamedac chat. I think it’s a weird software issue but I was going to return them and get the DT 990 pro. You think that’s a good idea? And I’m not sure exactly what amp to get to get the most out of them, I’m kind of new to the headphone scene. Btw love how you review things. I appreciate the answer up front that helped me feel confident about believing I knew how I wanted to move forward - G6 with DT990s, but I stayed to listen to your entire review and now I am not sure. Fishing expedition.... Can I ask for your (or anyone's) two cents? It'll be high-level! Is 'true' 7.1 surround from an HT Omega Fenix add-in card better than the virtual surround offered by G6 or GSX1000 or other options? I use a Neewer NW-800 mic with a behringer UMC22, so mic features are not to much of a concern, but I'm no expert. I only care about gaming, and very much want the best surround sound experience I can receive via headset. My aging Razer Tiamat 7.1 v1 headset has analog lines for each channel, but I feel like I am missing out sometimes. Both in regards to soundstage AND driver/software features... HT Omega has a VERY poor software experience, limited options, almost no config/customization. Leads me to believe I need to replace the Tiamat's, but I just don't know...these have served me well over the years IMHO. I would miss them, but I think it's time... the cushions have all but flaked off at this point lol. It's impossible to really confirm unless I buy a whole new setup, which if I want to do it right (and I do) may be expensive. :(

"true" surround headphones are trash. Virtual is much better. Having multiple small drivers in the headphone makes the audio quality really bad.

I went with the GSX 1000 and it’s beautiful! And works with the GSP 500 and it’s a match made in heaven!

Just got my Topping MX3 love it powers my Micca MB42x speakers and I'm blown away how nice it is. Powers my Fostex headphones very well too. It's a do it all dac and amp love it.

I just found Brian P's Vids... I now LOVE Brian P and Badseed Tech!!!! What an absolute badass that cuts all the bullshit and tells me exactly what I need to know. Kudos And Cheers mate!!

They've actually added chat mix to the G6 since this came out. Press the volume knob a 3rd time and the light turns pink. You can adjust chat volume independently of game volume. Also, the G6 can push 600 ohm headphones with zero problems. It pushes my 600 ohm DT880s AND my DT990s flawlessly. I can crank the volume up way further than is comfortable.

I spent so long looking at entry-level dac/amps. I finally settled on the Schiit Fulla 2. The design, DAC quality, and ultimately, the sexy, beautiful knob won me over. I love it. The Fulla 2 served me very well for a while, but I just ordered my Jotunheim and a balanced cable for my HD660s.... that just came in the mail today. I'm in audio heaven right now.

Nice video. Could I just run my mic cable straight into my pc and not have to worry about delays? And can’t you just adjust chat and game volume levels with w10 audio mixer and not need the knob on the dac?

To add a data point, just got a G6 in the mail and it worked seamlessly with my ps5 via USB port in the back. Chat and game audio worked flawlessly - no need to dive into settings - you just plug it in and go.

I bought this late 2020 based off of this video. Today, I updated the software and firmware in SoundBlaster Command and I noticed that the sidetone is no longer delayed. This thing is a fucking powerhouse. I run it with Dolby Atmos for positional accuracy, which gives me an amazing gaming/music listening experience.

Been waiting for this comparison. I own the G6 and I think it has great sound. I’m using the Sennheiser HD700. I had the Arc Dac and I think the sound is better on the g6 (personal opinion on gaming only). I would take the GSX based on esthetics alone and their 7.1 surround. Thanks for the review

If you are majoring in music and minoring and gaming what is a good amp?

Hello. I have a question, and hope you can answer it with your experience. I currently use a Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless, with a pricetag of over 300,- Euro's. How come that Beyerdynamic's 80ohm's headset with a very similar HZ-range, do cost 50% less? I'm considering the DT770 80ohm's or DT990 80ohm's. However, i'm not sure about the Ohm's yet. I will primarely use it for video-editing with audio shot in 24-bit 96k, and then ofcourse will buy a external audiocard, such as the one in this video.

So, I bought the Sennheiser GSX 1000 and GSP 600 at the end of last year and recently upgraded to a higher quality USB mic and a pair of Beyerdynamic dt 1990's. The GSX WILL NOT power these enough because they're 250ohms, always have to run it all full volume. Should I switch to the G6 or find a way to amplify the headphones while still using the GSX? I love the features of it, especially chat mixing and their high quality virtual surround sound. But the problem I foresee with the G6 is that if I use it in VSS mode, it'll make my Discord chat surround sound too right? That would suck. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Question. I like the G6 for its ability to correct crappy game sound when needed but I want more power. Can I use the dac/dsp functions but pass it to say a Schiit Magni etc? I am Just worried about the low power numbers as I already have a sound card with low power numbers.

I have a pair of Audio Technica M50's , recently broke my gaming headset with mic. I was going to get a modmic uni to go with the G6 since i cant use the better Modmic USB since the G6 wont support it. Is this a good idea or should i just go with a Gameone headset ? Hopefully you still read these responses on this video :) I purchased Sennheriser Game one headphones. They are great on PC but I dislike plugging them into my PS4 Pro controller. Someone recommended the Soundblaster G3. In looking at that, I came across the X G6. So my questions- You mentioned no Game/Chat mix on the X G6. But then what is the main button? Doesn't that control both Chat volume and Game volume? If I have that wrong, Would I be better off with the G3? I play PC and PS4 and both are at a computer desk. Is there a big quality difference between the two? For the price difference, I would think so... Thanks for any help!

Dude.... what a PERFECT review.... seriously EVERY. SINGLE. QUESTION is answered. Thank you dude..... I really wanted the GSX1000 cuz everybody says the surround is better and thats what I care about the most.... But I need the extra power to drive my headphones and ive been using creative for years so I know their drivers in and out. The only thing is is that I wonder how much better the surround actually is on the GSX and that question is going to burn my brain. Because virtual surround is NO GIMMICK to me... that shit is unreal good in every single game I play. So its at the top of the list of what I consider important. Second is a strong amp to drive dt1990 pro's..... GRRRRR I wish I could just hear both of them. Ive been using a creative X7 for years now.... but its only 5.1 and I want to step up to 7.1 and I dont need all the extra speaker features on the X7 anymore cuz I use powered speakers now. What a killer review tho good job man subbed on this one!

Both HRTFs are based on some chosen average head shape. So it's total guess which one would fit better to your head shape. For my head Creative's algorithm is step ahead when listening recordings. Tested with super neutral AKG K702, its more bassy brother K712, Beyer DT990 and retired tape keeping parts from falling Sennheiser HD595. Anyway GSX is gaming trinket overpriced for hardware, or lack of proper audio hardware: Its DAC is worser than in 35-40 €/$ budget sound cards and it has as much amp as standard phone/tablet, because used Conexant CX20745 is meant for those. Sennheiser must have smelled chance for fat gaming hype profit margins. And Creative should release in this quarter external sound card with "Super X-Fi" tech, which customizes HRTF by analyzing photos of your head. (face and sides) That's certainly going to curb stomp non-customized HRTFs for most people. It's that "Project Accent": us.creative.com/upgrade/
