    This is main reason for me searching You Tube videos for Sub Tasks in Reminders in Monterey or any other iOS device coomputers i.e. iMacs. I can use this function on my iPhone or iPads, no problems. I am realizing it is what it is.

    Love your videos. I'm trying to decide between using Reminders only on my iPhone/iPad as I use a WIndows PC (for now) or using Todoist. They are both great and have their pros and cons so it is hard to decide. Your videos have helped me become more productive though. I want to thank you for that!

    Hi Erin, As you develop your productivity system, Todoist is going to give you a lot more flexibility. You might find Reminders a little frustrating over time.

    @@Carl_Pullein That's what I've been finding. I can't wait to switch to MacOS in the future as I prefer having everything integrating but in the meantime Todoist Free has been working great. :) thanks for your amazing videos!

    Hi Brian, I have a feeling you will feel frustrated with Reminders. While it has improved, a lot, over the last couple of years and it’s Siri integration is fantastic, there are a lot of things we take for granted in Todoist that Reminders does not have the ability to do. (Boards, sections, archiving and filters)

    Thank you and fyi: On the Mac: highlight task, press command key then tap Bracket right - that converts to a sub task. To promote a subtask to task, tap it to highlight, then press command key and tap Bracket left!

    Thanks and as a new user to Reminders it gets the job done but it’s “incomplete”. I’m moving over from ToDoist as I’m not involved professionally anymore and don’t need it. So no import task makes my conversion long-winded! Also while Siri natural language impresses it’s unavailable when entering manually. Lots of other “imperfections” but I an live with it.

    You do the same on Monterey. Just take your task and drag it into/over your maint task. From the left. So you have subtask. I just tested this out. And works perfectly 😊

    You can do this on Monterey. Just select the second task and drag it on top of the original heading. Also, I have a dropdown arrow on the right side of the original task and it still stays as a subtask.Also when I selected "scheduled" the subtask 2 dated tomorrow shows up and the original dated today shows up. Not sure why all this works for me on my OSX system but not yours. Interesting.

    Hi, I found out that subtask does not show any information which task it is related to. So if I set reminder Send the offer (subtask) in Project A (task) and I get the reminder on that date, I just see Send the offer, but have no idea in which project. Even in the search results I just see the subtask without any other information so it is almost impossible to find out where the subtask belongs without going through every single task. This makes Reminders absolutely useless for any kind of project management. Any idea how to deal with that?

  • @Carl_Pullein

    @Carl_Pullein

    Hi Ondrej, Reminders is not a project manager, it’s a task manager. It’s job is to tell you what tasks you need to do today and in that respect it does a good job. If you want to manage projects digitally, then something like Monday.com or Click Up would be a better option for you.
