I Know That The Jumping Look Kind Of Weird, But I Liked How Strangely Unique It Made The Game Feel... I Don't Know... Maybe It Just Me

Maybe there’s a cosmetic item that’s just a pair of bunny ears, and they let you return to your true rabbit form

Maybe it could be a mix of both, like the goblin is frolicking around.

im glad you changed it i think its a welcome addition but i did also like the charm of the old animation. i think an item or setting to toggle between them would be awesome

Maybe change the animation to the goblin skipping? I personally like the walk better but there is some charm in the hops.

Oh, hah! A few hours after discovering this project, you upload a new devlog! The idea for the game story sounds really fun and the NPC designs are lovely. I'm surprised you're thinking about a translation already, it's something I didn't really think many indie game devs would consider, but not like it's a bad thing. I wish you luck on that aspect. Excited for the next dev log!

The more ideas are flowed into this game the more I like it. Having it be set in a DnD-like world where you play as a goblin getting rekt by the player party is silly and fun. Would be cool to also interact with that part of the world. Fighting "players".

Seemed like a lot in this devlog! Nice work and it was good to see some info about localization. I've also been thinking about how to do that for my game and I didn't even know unity had something for it! Thanks

I don't think you should feel like this month's progress was underwhelming. You got a lot done in my opinion, especially in a way that makes future progress easier! The Npcs look great so far, even their silhouettes are enough to differentiate them. I am assuming that some will be unlocked gradually as we clean zones? (perhaps someone is sick from the goo or captured in a dungeon) Getting the localisation framework up now will avoid future headaches and extra backtracking for sure! Lastly, I'm not sure if you feel ready for it yet, but I saw recently that Asmongold is hosting his own gaming expo of sorts and has invited devs to sign up for it. It doesn't need to be playable yet to be possibly featured. It seems to be directly targeted towards indie devs. Just thought I'll throw that here as a possible publicity option. His announcement is here: /watch?v=c7iljGwwj3s Either way, you have a lot of people who are proud of your progress, please don't feel discouraged!

Yaaaay a new devlog - fell in love w your vids :). I wanna be a game dev too - but I suffer from mental health issues :( . I'll keep trying but it's hard when I can only focus for about 15 minutes a day :(. One day I'll be healthy though - and then I'll work very hard and be productive everyday :)

I was going to suggest you let your patreons name some of your npcs, only to realize you don’t appear to have a patreon. With or without patreon, you should do something like it. It could extend from names / descriptions of npcs to also items, places, etc.

  • @Koboldmensch

Nah, bad idea. It wont ever feel cohesive if everybody picks one name. Names should function by the same rules to make sense and feel real

So I was finally able to catch up from where I left up on keeping up with the development from when mike sent me your first video, and I gotta say I’m absolutely impressed and honestly hope you start a patreon or something that I can subscribe to, as to help you out a lil financially. Maybe some donating of some kind idk but I’ll gladly give a monthly $10-20. For now I’ll just keep up to date lol

The game looks really nice so far, looking forward to all of your videos - the intro reminds me a lot of the start of the Goblins Webcomic, same premise with seeing the goblin village being destroyed by adventures. In the comic some of the adventures slowly grow as characters and become aware of evil they are from the point of view of the Goblins and they try to make amends, maybe some inspiration for non-goblin NPC, if that is something you think would be fitting for the game?

I’m thinking the player will be given a choice after defeating each of the heroes to finish them off or show mercy, and the decisions will affect the ending 👀 then we can have 3 endings - one for if they all live, one for if some of them live, and one for if they’re all gone

Just wanted to echo another commentor's words that don't feel like you need to show us progress every month! It's really incredible how much you managed to achieve and don't downplay the effort it must have taken. Looking forward to playtesting! Also wanted to add that I think the jumping makes it easier when it comes to the turn-based combat, but feels a bit too much for regular exploration. Would it be possible to toggle it on and off?
