The 'book smarts' also generally correlate to good record keeping. Keeping excellent records can not only show you whats works but also what doesn't work. It can keep you honest with yourself and let you know when you need to back up and take a different direction. Thanks for your time and sharing with us.

I swear on everything my philosophy about game bred pits are the same as his. I’ve been talking like this for decades now. Congratulations man I think it’s awesome that you are doing this. 1. You had to work extremely hard to get yourself into a financial situation to do this. 2.) you stayed focused and didn’t cut corners. 3.) you stayed loyal to your dogs and stuck with it for decades if not longer. I see years and years of hard work on his yard tours. I always told my friends that are into these breeds . We don’t need big bandogs but what should be produced is a bigger but balanced game bred pit. That’s the perfect dog

Bodybuilder has muscles that looks good, an mma fighter has muscles that are functional in every aspect, cardio, endurance, explosiveness, power, conditioned etc. And a fighter doesn't have sudden impulses of rage 🤣 like gym bros

Saved your page. Been doing alot of research on personal protection dogs that can double as farm dogs a and be ok with the family. What are your thoughts on the Bandogge? I have small children, I have farm animals, I also spend alot of time in the woods alone and in bad neighborhoods due to the nature of my job. I need a real swiss army knife of a dog. I had a Doberman but he wound up to soft for me. He wound up being the kids dog...

Hello Lee Really lovely your videos very detailed and it’s great to hear information from a formally educated breeder. I am doing some research and was wondering if you would care to assist. I have put together the following list of characteristics and traits and was wondering what order you would prioritise them when selecting for breeding aiming to produce in your dogs? - Conformation/ structure /appearance. - Health / vigour - Temperament / soundness - Bidability/ trainablity - Determination/ Perseverance - Loyalty - Prey drive - Fight Drive - Defence Drive - Gameness - Pride - Sociability I understand that some of these may overlap however which of the above would you say are primitive traits and which are derived. Your assistance hear would be greatly appreciated. One day in the future I intend to apply this research to my own program once I’ve learned enough to do the working line GSD breed justice. Thanks again inquisitive David AUSTRALIA.

I respect alot of what you are saying and doing with your dog's the only thing I would like to know is if gameness is your ultimate goal and I have no doubt that you know what the definition of game is then you know that to call your dog's game you would have to game test them generation after generation

  • @APBT-Bandog

gameness is a goal, but in these days and times hard to test for. When hog hunting, 95% of the time gameness does NOT come into play. But maybe 1 in 20-30 hunts you will see a dog really have to work through some significant stresses...including exhaustion, heat, injury, etc. When it happens, you care for the animal of course and protect it to the best of your ability, but also take note if the dog was willing to remain engaged and scratch back into engagement when removed.

Sorrells APBT is our primary foundation for APBT, and also some Redboy/Jocko/Bolio/Tombstone dogs. The other components include English Mastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff, and Tosa-Inu...but the APBT plays a bigger role than all three of these mastiffs combined.

You’re going to give up gameness if you do that, and that’s not something I’m willing to do.

@@APBT-Bandog thank you i appreciate the response. I also have another question do you think a Fila Brasilero is a good mastiff to use in a bandogge program or is that going a little to far on the estate livestock guardian side.
