So pretty! I wish we had that kind of store where I live. We have 1 that's like a go to freshwater but its crazy over priced because again it's to only one. Quick question how we're you able to remove the bio from the spider wood my last tank kept developing bio and it just took over the tank I didn't know what to do.

@The Turtle Girl oh okay good to know and for the most part the bio isn't harmful it just LOOKS nasty lol which is my problem. now algae, that definitely is another problem. Have you tried adding floating plants that create shading and help reduced the lightening and possibly adding more submerged plants that'll help bring oxygen to the tank. I know these methods help with algae control.

We need to see an update 😊

The filter is built into tank i think, it’s in the back

correct! the filter is built into the tank...you can kind of see the intake slots in the lower left when I add the substrate, and then a pump creates the flow and it is output by the little spigot near the top.

I have been wanting to get a 5 gal betta tank for my own office so I have a few questions for you! How do you do water changes in an office environment without moving the tank around and making a mess?? My second question is, what does someone do if they don't have a current tank (such as your other tanks) to populate the beneficial bacteria into the filter system? Thank you!!!!! Totally my hero for making this video and proving I'm not crazy for wanting one! Lol

maybe a video for the future will be my office tank routine ;) but to answer your questions, I would use a siphon and a bucket...we have a kitchen sink/break area not too far from my desk...so that's my water source. If you don't have a current tank to seed media, then you can either do a fishless cycle or a fish in cycle. Lots of videos/articles on those but basically you introduce an ammonia to the tank and it will just take a bit longer to establish.

I love the tank and fish. I've had lots of betta fish that only lasts few days. I love axolotls and turtles and I'm hoping to get one soon. since you have had axolotls and turtles for a while which one is easier to take care of

I mean, the care of either are relatively different. Turtles require basking areas, but axolotls are more sensitive...so I'm not really sure if one is easier than the other haha!

I like play sand, pool filter sand, and black diamond blasting sand from tractor supply. These are all pretty budget friendly. You can also always get a regular aquarium sand from the pet/fish store

D'oh! Why didn't I watch you vid on this before I started dumping potting soil in a tank I will be doing a redo later 😆

3:40 honestly gluing anubias is the most annoying process for me personally, if/when I get more I'll just tie it down or use rocks like you did which us genius also while I know the video is older i will warn you chili rasbras have a 10-20g tank minimum and bettas aren't encouraged to be with other fish in anything less than a 20g due to the risks of stress (which for bettas causes many health concerns), territorial issues, etc. But snails and shrimp could work altough bettas can treat the shrimp as a very expensive snack so it's always a bit hit or miss with them being housed with bettas.

Unrelated I have a question about my turtle and its hard to get any definite answers, is there any way we could talk so i can show pics of him? Hes taking ages to shed (its been many months) he had a lighting issue and i got hims some better lamps like 5 months ago but no change.

Guys i need help, i cant get my turtle to eat in a separate container (as most turtle keepers do), he just won’t eat. He will look at the food and then get right back to trying to escape, he won’t eat in there at all. I had a large container and got an even bigger one and that didn’t work. He used to eat in the container as a hatchling but won’t now. He will only eat in the tank which dirties it up very badly And is messing up my live plants. It just makes such a mess. And even in the tank he is barely interested in the food,Im scared, should i take him to the vet? What do i do?

Your aquarium is so beautiful but those decorations are very sharp and can rip or snag your bettas tail it is very risky and bettas can be sensetive fish. But your fish is so beautiful I love her😊

Quick fish chat for anyone who wants a little advice/story So i have had mainly zebra danios in my tanks and they have done good and bad, i first bought 5, 2 went missing so i bought like 5 more, but fish kept going missing (im guessing my turtle got them but i found 0 bodies or debris, like here one day gone the next) but this showed me survival of the fittest, now i have 3, 3 from the very first batch (I believe) every other fish died except these, so for zebras i think its really down to the individual fish, because some survived a long time and some died in weeks.
