Dunno how I'll use it, but pls make more quick tips. Skipping through a 30-40min vid sometimes is tedious just if you want to know some specifics about a module or technique (you're sometimes the only one doing this). And tho long vids are nice, especially starting out with VCV, crawling through hours of content is heavy on the brain! :)

-- grr, how on earth do you constrain a random source so it isn't going up and down ten octaves but maybe two?... Surely there is a straightforward technique for that... -- start this video to get a quick answer, surely this will show a trick... Oh of course, a VCA! I should have thought of... Hmm, now what is *that* phrase-seq thing... better keep watching... -- two hours later I am still paused at 2:25 in to this video, just because of the inspiration from what I have seen so far taking me here and there ... Getting through all five minutes will take me well into the early hours... Dense stuff Omri, thank you for another wonderful mind expanding lesson.

I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂 And yes, in most cases, a VCA is actually an attenuator so you can use it to reduce the strength of signals and control this over time with CV.

@@OmriCohen-Music This stuff is rabbit holes upon rabbit holes in every direction. I always try to remember the benefit of imposing restrictions when I work on stuff to be able to get things done. Like, an acoustic guitar is so limited but you have all the expression right there within those limits, and total immediate control over the whole thing, and can write a song in as long as it takes to play. On the other extreme VCVRack is so deep and malleable and absorbing that you can spend hours tweaking and repatching and have nothing to show for it, like playing a video game... Hoping to reach a stage where all the basic intuitions are solid and I have a dozen or so go-to modules that cover everything, and work within their constraints.... gettting theerrree...

really appreciate your videos....I'm struggling with VCV2 Pro, tbh theres a LOT of stuff missing from the workflow that Cherry Voltage seems to have resolved long ago....for a start a lot of your patches do not work for me, i understand perfectly how to set the midi input and audio output modules...but often almost all the patches i download to say they are missing modules...yet VCV does nothing (unlike voltage) to retrieve or tell me exactly WHERE to find or automatically download those missing modules...one discovery is that quite often the names of the reported missing modules DONT MATCH the ones in the actual library...this is a HUGE problem for VCV2 i think needs to be improved quickly...can you provide any tips or help?

I totally understand what you mean. The best would be to have some sort of links generated for the missing modules so you can directly get them. The only help I can offer is if you let me know which patches you have issues with, and I will try to help you out with finding the modules...
