With the help of Simply Cloth you can quickly create sewings and use presets to simulate and test the desired properties of the Cloth objects!
Addon for Blender

    It never ceases to amaze me how blender manages to be incompatible with youtube tutorials. You could be doing everything 100% like the tutorial and still it doesn't work because of some small dumb setting that's not toggled or the model is SLIGHTLY different so you actually have to take a complete different approach than the tutorial does.

    It depends on how you go about it. The tool only helps to get to the first result quickly in certain places. You have to work out details one way or another. Pockets would be a bit more complicated to make at the moment, and I have to try the zipper. It is not a Marvelous Designer replacement for Blender, but a help tool to create and test clothes or fabric. Belt and pants you can do everything. It depends on your workflow :)

    What if I was making a sweat shirt with like scrunched up cuffs on the sleeves? How would I do that?

  • @SimplySlawa

    @SimplySlawa

    4 жыл бұрын

    You can model your sweatshirt normally, but you choose the cuffs on the sleeves and add a hook (Blender: search create a Hook).With this hook you can then pull along the sleeve (animates the hook) and create your desired effect. Or you put the cuf directly to the upper position andpin the cuff vertices. Then the sleeves should sew to the cuff and perhaps it will give you the effect too. Just try :) You can also make a small video about this. Thanks for the question :)

Nothing serious work on "pants". Thank you for the Tipp!

    Hi Fredo! Thank you for comment! At the moment you can sew your cloth with Edge select and hit one button. Pockets I dont develop at the moment. For specific creation of garments on characters, I recommend to use "Garment Tool" from Jose Conseco (Bartosz Styperek) He have a great solution to add pockets in his Addon and the Workflow.

    It has a lot to offer that the build in interface doesn't, because it streamlines the setup for all kinds of cloth to take seconds, not minutes or hours. It unleashes Blender's cloth sim powers as it should be, with everyhting in one place, incredibly well thought out, making you insanely quick and actually allows to use cloth sim in Blender artistically and do iterations, without being scared of all the long and tedious setups you would need to do in vanilla Blender. This addon is one of the best and worth every cent and more. It is not "just" some rearrangement of the interface. Well it is, but for a reason. This should be cloth how it is supposed to be accesed in native Blender.

    My cloth is flying off into the sunset. Any idea why?

  • @danielcopper932

    @danielcopper932

    Update: the problem seems to occur when I extrude in edit mode and then try to run the simulation, when the plane is inverted at a 90-degree angle to the x-axis.

    Second update: the mesh that has collisions active on it seems to be repelling it somehow. Not quite sure what's going on there, especially as it repels it ever upwards, but only when the plane is at a certain distance or less from it. Doesn'tappear to be object collision distance, having fiddled with that slider.

    I'm wondering why you didn't use the back pattern for the back of the pants. Is that because the back and front panels wouldn't be able to match up correctly using this add-on? It seems suss that someone who's capable of using the add-on would resort to using the same shape four times when no tailor on Earth would ever do that. The pants don't actually look as good as they could and for that reason, I'm not willing to part with money buying the Add-on. Seriously dude. If you could do decent looking pants using both front and back of the pattern, you would have.
