    Thanks Teela, this was so helpful! Shadow question - does it look more authentic to have the shadow be a dark tint of the colour underneath, ie when the shadow is resting? Or are you keeping them black for simplicity purposes? Keen to hear your thoughts.

    Both ways will give you very similar results, so I opted to use the method that was a little quicker to execute (the black *has* to be set to multiply with a reduced opacity to get that similar look)

    Go to the text's layer, tap the little 'n' and drag the opacity slider to adjust transparency 👍

    Hi! I have white text overlapping a white image (it’s going on a black T-shirt). I would like to erase the image around the text but don’t want to do it free hand with the erase tool. Is there a way to do this so that my erased outline around the text is precise all around.

    Hi! I did this tutorial a few weeks ago and it was fantastic! But I just tried it again and for some reason, every time I try to invert the text in the beginning Procreate crashes and when I go back in the text is rasterized. Any tips on how to avoid / fix this issue?

    Layers have nothing to do with your ability to post to social media :) Simply export it as a jpg to use on any social channel - use a square canvas if planning to post on IG 👍

    It won’t let me do this it closes the app every time I try to select the light layer after having selected and inverting the letters:( which literally rasterizes everything

    Yep! All of these iPads now support pressure sensitivity (changed since the time of this recording): every-tuesday.com/ipads

    When I choose select invert, the letters go away and it fills the canvas with pink. And in my layers panel, I just see the word (instead of the italic A to indicate text) only once and no black layer of letters underneath. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

    What iPad are you using? I encountered (when using iPad Air 4) this issue as well. But when I used another iPad 6th generation, I don't have this issue. Probably there is a bug :(

    I followed your tutorial with the word Hello. Then I have been trying to follow it with the word Love. When I get to layer 5 the color will not show up on the letters. I can turn of the pink layer above it and see the line. But it won't show up on top of the word. What am I doing wrong. Thank you

    Hey! I didn't see it in my tagged images, would be happy to take a look if you'd like to re-tag :) From your explanation, it sounds like your black layer might not be directly below the light layer with the layer mask on it
