when I saw the Doors,, Jack Bruce was only in his 20s but he has blossomed in his way to stardom .

This song being played when they're older men gives this song so much depth.

It still amazes me how these teenage brits, an ocean apart from the US, were able to find the LP's of these obscure blues artists and go head-over-heels in love with what they were hearing. Kids like John Mayall, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, etc thought to themselves: "Man, thats music I've never heard before, but I want to 'be it'....Muddy and Howlin' and Willie were fading in the U.S. until these british kids came from across the pond and brought the blues to a whole new level. Thank you!

My very first rock album I purchased when I entered high school in 1969, was Cream. The album was called: Goodbye Cream. It was recorded in 1968 and released in 1969. The album art: Band members were dressed in mat finished, silver tuxedos, standing close together. It was the first time loud rock music rattled the walls of my parents house. I could only listen to it when my folks were still at their jobs, or away. I rushed home after my high school let us out, for the day, around 4 PM. In 1968 we (my folks) purchased our first stereo system. It was one of those furniture-like consoles. It was pretty groovy, considering how "square", my folks were. There was a built-in receiver, a tuner, and a full sized Sony brand, reel to reel, tape recorder and play-back, system. A decent turntable. You could plug-in additional speakers. The unit was 5 foot long, so there were adequate speaker separation. The furniture-like housing was in a light colored, teak wood, and would have been called in a Danish Modern style. Angular modern wood legs. Over-all design made it appear lighter weight, than other models, from previous years, which were clunky, dark stained, wooden boxes.

Any drummers out there will appreciate how good Ginger's swing is here, pure technique and mastery of the instrument

Three blues masters whose powers the years had not diminished.

Masters. Monsters. Only Clapton is still alive. Their music will echo 4 ever.

Three SUPERB Musicians...too bad Personal disagreements gotcin the way...

I’m 68 years old. Will always come back to this one. Mighty fine. Mighty fine.

We fans should be very thankful that we were gifted with this concert. Every single note and drum beat is "classic!" This is "history, repeating itself." Jack Bruce...RIP and thanks for your soulful music. Cream will live on forever. Rock and Roll can never die!

I absolutely agree. I remember Eric saying in a video somewhere when he learned of Bruce's health issues he thought about the Beatles, how they'd say I wish we'd made things right with John. Wish we could of played together one more time. And Eric thought. Well it's now or never. We may not have a chance tomorrow...and I'm glad he had that foresight

It's good to see Cream at whatever age. They still communicated as musicians. (They were speaking with their instruments.

The nicest thing about this is Jack Bruce often suddenly smiling and enjoying every single moment of that night. These people are incredible and music has accompanied them for all their lives and always will. Fantastic.

The song was written by Steve Cropper, and booker t and the mg's was the backing band for the Albert king version.

Eric's experience really shows here..he's fantastic. Such a heavy groove and he's into it. Almost dancing in place while he plays LoL.

Was at the concert. 55 years old and one of the unforgettable high points in my life. Quite possibly the best blues/rock trio ever. Certainly right up there in talent and ability. RIP Jack and Ginger....we will never see the like again. As for Eric, well, what can one say. Crossroads is a firm favourite and if my kids get it right, it will be played on my last day of a wonderful life.

Considering that these guys, with a few rare exceptions, hadn't played together for nearly four decades, shows just how great they still were. Very powerful performances from all three.

It's sad to know that Ginger Baker has passed away as of last night the only one left now is Eric and what are we going to after he passes . This was an era in music History that should never be forgotten .

Jack Bruce’s voice is perfect for this song, one of my favorites of Cream. Crossroads has to be Cream’s best!

That bass guitar has to be one of the most beautiful looking instruments ever made

After listening to every genre of music, especially rock and roll, for the last 60 years, Cream remains my favorite band of all time.

I haven't smiled so much watching a performance in a long time

2023,........In my wildest dreams I never expected Eric Clapton would move to Columbus, Ohio. (In the USA) He married a woman who grew up there. I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and moved to Columbus in 1977, to attend OSU for graduate school. I liked the town and have called it my home ever since. I'm not sure he's in town too often,....though I did spot him out in public, once at a store,...in the early 2000's.

Why do so many people compare this performance to the Wheels Of Fire recording? There are so many years in between that you cannot expect the same performance. It is amazing that Jack is still singing so powerfully, considering his health issues at the time, and his bass was still up there with the best. Alright, the strat is never going to have the same tone as the Gibson, but Clapton has the right to chose his weapon. I just wish my band could do this song as well as this!

Most of us eventually get screwed over in life and can certainly relate to this song. Wow is all I can say about this Cream tune. And Ginger Baker is the best and coolest drummer ever.

Clapton is Clapton..Baker is a legendary and rhythmic drummer...but for me it was Bruce that made Cream

Finery voice , incredible 6 string bass!! Deserted Cities of the Heart is a Jack tune , when played live he'd stretch out a bit.

One of the best voices in R&R. Often overlooked.

This is my favorite version of this song, even though I love Albert King. Amazing job, Cream!

This is what happens when they got old...........They became better than they ever were.

Not sure about other boomers but when I heard the original version of this by Cream, I was completely blown away. His voice was haunting, almost scary in a way. I still have my original Cream album....wore the grooves out.

Jack what a great voice.

I learned this song back in the 90"s I never knew about it before and every since then I have to hear Cream play this song no matter who has covered it, it is a legendary performance, great sound , awesome venue, and they just all look happy as ever, nobody will ever take the place of Cream.

These guys are really impressive. I understand now why people have talked about them so much over the years.

What a great band. Classic.

I think that guy in the blue shirt who *THINKS * he’s Eric Clapton ~ should try a Red Gibson Hollowbody ..... it’d give him a fatter sound. With one of those Gibson PAF pickup thingies. You know the one, like Ed Van Halen used in his guitar in 1978 ! 😁😁😁

great to see the first great power trio unite and play at the same hall they did their last concert in 1968. though older and grayer, the interplay between the three of them was still magical, thank God for Cream!!!!

Jack Bruce made a whole lot of people's lives better I mean a whole lot and I feel sorry for the ones who don't know him and his music and God bless Pete Brown 2...

Cream! One of my biggest influences, thanks to my parents I was able to listen to them, I was born in the 80s but I could always listen to good music as it is, the most Cream are great and that energy they carry in each song is unique

If I'd had one of today's stereo systems with the boom box etc in my '67 GTO, back in the day, man that'd be a dangerous mix playing Cream.

EC began his solo prematurely before the second verse and pulled back. Probably cause Ginger played that build up fill at the turnaround. Jack didn't get pissed. I was at two of the three shows at MSG in 2005. There were a few more missteps those nights but I am so glad I attended to finally get to see them all together on the same stage. Miss Jack immensely.

Heavy, I saw Fresh Cresm in their second American apperance. No stopping Ginger Baker on drums, woth Eric and Jack Bruce. Wow what a smashong group. Good memories

This version was flat and uninspired. Bruce sang with the energy of a quaalude addict, while Clapton squittered about with a very thin sound. Ugh.
