    After all these years and MULTIPLE printer models, I’m surprised that Creality hasn’t released their own version of multi color printer or AMS system. I remember CR-X Dual Color but that is all I remember. I might have missed a release.

    Also Sovol has the SV04 IDEX and I think Creality and Sovol are somewhat related. But after the success of the Bambu Lab AMS and the availability of the 3D Chameleon 4 color system to every printer ... it's more than obvious they are currently missing out a chance. But let's face it: Bambu did invest some kind of development to their AMS system and Creality is not known for new developments or upgrading existing printers.

    They've hinted that it's in the works. This is why I'm leaning heavily to a k1 max over a bambu, cause it will evenly have a ams type system AND it's 300x300 build size, and that's something you can't change or upgrade over a bambu

    I live in Perth Western Australia, I bought a K1 just a few days ago from JayCar Electronics, I have been looking at 3D printers for a few years now, I went to buy a $3 button battery, saw the new range of 3D printers, I asked a lot of questions, the K1 had everything I was looking for in a 3D printer, the price was $819 because of the Black Friday sales still on I got it for $650 which I thought was ok, plus I ended up with a $40 rewards credit.

    hi, first of all, thanks for your video. I am very knowledgeable as a K1 user. but my device is a problematic device. I couldn't find a filament that kept up with your speed, and my projects are always unfinished. and it turns out to be broken. I made and installed the project that entered the 45-degree header that we made at the entrance of the filament pipe. when the left goes to the very back, it bends and crushes the filament pipe, can an improvement be made related to this? otherwise, I will have to remove the part I made .

    Software issues kept me from considering this printer. Now that they have opened it up as true open source, and have provided root access, I am seriously considering it. I'd like to see a schematic for the electronics, complete with processor type, and pinouts. If there is enough info to install generic linux and klipper on it, that would be great. However, just being able to fully configure klipper (which it appears is possible under the root access), is probably close enough for me. Was seriously considering building a Voron Trident, but the K1 with root access and all of the new fixes would be much less expensive and close enough.

    @@OneHappyCrazyPerson I bought one at MicroCenter during their black friday sale, but it was old stock with the known bad extruder and hot end. So I returned it and they pulled another one from stock, but it was also old stock. I ended up getting a refund. I might try again in a few months when all of the old stock units may be out of the supply chain. Creality should have recalled all of the units shipped with the older parts, or extended the 'fre' replacements for all first buyers forever.

I got it off Creality store website, I took advantage of Creality's 6% student discount as well as an addition 2% off for paying using paypal. The printer was already marked down to $399 for black friday. I also got a spool of Hyper PLA on sale with it. The AI Camera cam from Amazon as the Creality store was sold out. I believe the sale continues until 11/27 and while supplies last, otherwise i would have gotten the K1 bundle (which was sold out when i made my purchase) which included: the Camera, 2 spools of hyper PLA, & a nozzle set.

    Rob, you pick the layer height when you slice the model. It's a tradeoff between speed and finish quality, you'll get a feel for what layer height you want as you use it. Width of the filament has no impact on the layer heights you can do, remember that the filament is melted before your printer lays it down.

    @@dsteele713 Got it, thanks. Creality Print only gives two options, high res and standard, 0.1 or 0.2, easy. Apart from orientating the model, auto-adding supports, and selecting the material, petg for example, seems that it then just prints. For petg and pla it seems quite automated. I guess I'll need to check the set-up, run the autolevel, calibrate or whatever, but I'm hoping that'll be about all.... can it be that easy!

I was coming from Ender 3 Pro, which I had to babysit nearly all the time to get useable prints. So far, I'm glad I upgraded to the K1. Creality listened to its critics, made some improvements on the hardware, feature set, esthetics, build quality and software. Oh, did I mentioned SPEED! • @jackthecat6225

    @jackthecat6225

    They didn't intentionally copy Prusa, there are only so many good architectures for a good printer. If you dive into it it's pretty obvious. Creality had many years to do what Bambu did, but chose not to even when the community continually bombarded them with requests and ideas. Creality is not an innovative company. They have released different versions of basically the very same printer for years whereas Bambu started with a clean sheet. Plus, both the Prusa and the Bambu print cleaner and more consistent than any creality. Is the higher cost enough to offset that small increase in quality? Only you can decide that. If money is riding on it though, people will buy a Prusa or a Bambu, not a creality. I suspect that Bambu is eating into creality's market share.

    Eric here: I have the Bambu P1S, as I said, and my PERSONAL experience with the K1 has been really good. At least, other than what was mentioned in the video. As always, there's a limit to what we can do for repairs on most machines. Unfortunately, the way technology works, the more complex, the less we can do on our own. For example, I've built my own computer until my last one, and I couldn't build it for the same money for the exact same parts and my own case. Hopefully prices will go down enough that it won't be an issue, kind of like with DVD players, etc. Thanks for watching!

    The fact is that everyone buy all these shitty printers as a cloud service BS killing of the rest of the 3D printing market. So when you intellectual property get stolen by some Chinese company or your printer stops working because the cloud provider don't want to support your printer anymore, or your printers starts printing random prints in the middle of the night, just look in the mirror to see who to blame. Please stop buying cloud connected hardware, that goes for printers, cars, doorbells, computers, etc.

    From Eric: I print with all sorts of good and bad filament. The bad filament has a fairly bad result. The good (expensive) filament has a really good result. As I've said, this is MY experience. Nils is still having issues with a "first run" machine. Hence his review. My results have been nearly perfect, hence my review. Thanks for watching!

    "Dependable"...Really? I know this channel and I don't believe you believe this at all! This is the problem with reviewers who are shit scared to offend their puppet masters...( you were never going to give this machine 2 bad reviews) " Dependable" is the last thing this machine is...Creality start testing your printers or move into maybe inkjet 2d printing if you can't run a proper business...

My experience has been quite good. Note: MY experience. Nils is still having issues, but I have had a good experience. And honestly, Creality isn't really happy with all the things I said in this review either. So... Unless you can read my mind somehow, please don't make declarative statements about me personally.
