I remember in 1990 my Mum's boyfriend had a light metallic green 740 Turbo Intercooler when I was aged 10, we drove from London to Scotland in it, I stayed awake the whole journey! I have to ask tho, where's the 5 pots? I've seen more Ford Focus ST 5 pots than this video, if I remember correctly the 740 was a 4 cylinder?

In Sweden it's probably the most common build to take a T5 engine from a 850 or V70 and and slap a big turbo on it, pair it up with a BMW ZF gear box and mount it in your avarage 240,740 and 940

I think it’s because in a 6cyl 2 cylinders fire at the same time to balance the engine but in a t5 the cylinders fire separately. Most cars in these clips have a scream pipe, helps a lot with a angrier sound 😉

So many incorrect answers. The inline 5 produces its "angry" sound from its 2/5 resonance. It fires 5 times for every 2 rotations of the crankshaft, creating something that sounds like a major 3rd. 6 cylinder engines produce perfect 5ths and 8 cylinder engines produce octaves. This is because they're producing 2 different frequencies that create harmony.

@@quinwatier4281 I don't think volvo engines are better or worse. Both T6 and 2JZ are good engines and both can handle lots of power but usualy T6 block needs to be reinforsed whit corset and 2JZ don't necessarily need corset. But on my opinioin 2JZ is worst sounding inline six on whole world.

​@@quinwatier4281 Yes it is. it's funny why no one is honest about the durability of the 2jz engine because they break down just as easily as any inline six whit 800 hp :D even Volvo's T6 is just as weak as 2jz, M52 and other inline six engines :D
