That interior is the most polarizing thing i've seen in a while. I totally hated it, then looked at it again and kinda love it. I stil have mixed feelings but i would have to see it in person to decide.@@electrikoptik

Possibly had to pause to collect their pants, after drifting 2-3 corners previously, and decided to bow out, respectfully! They definitely outmatched in power, but driver skill was not quite the same!

You could see how proud of the GR the owner was and the admiration for Misha’s driving in his face.

Gr Yaris has crazy grip with AR1'S It's been a while since I've seen such a full throttle lap, a stage 1 tune at least could even out the power to grip ratio a bit more in this case

What a weapon this thing is, the suspension and the AR1s make it perfectly planted

the GR Yaris is truly impressive, even with a passenger onboard! That E92 owner is something else, absolutely relentless in how he throw his car around corners. But the all-wheel-drive system of the Yaris shows no mercy, especially on the twisty corners of the Nürburgring. The E92 didnt stand a chance lol, especially with a skilled driver like Misha behind the wheel.

Misha you are correct TC is not fully off! however you need to do the pedal dance to fully deactivate it! very good lap.

You just hold down the TC button for 5 seconds instead of pressing it and you see Expert mode disappear.

The 2024 version will get the 300hp version of the 3-cyl, though Europe will get the 280hp instead.. (probably because of some emissions stuff or something like that)

Why does it need 4 cylinders? The 2025 GR Yaris has 304hp for most of the world and can be upgraded to much higher outputs. There are so many 4cyl cars, it’s nice to have something unique and different.

How much faster would that lap have been with 100kgs lesson the passenger seat?

@@alexlam24I know that, I own an m240i with the B58. Parts are expansive, but i also used to own a GT86, and buying parts directly at Toyota isn't really much cheaper than BMW...

Ok but honestly the cooling solution seems really impressive, coolant temp didn't even flinch, I wonder what about oil temp. The car felt like a pocket rocket, slow acceleration but felt like it maintains the speed with ease.

I hope we get more rear view cam instead of feet cam in the future. Much more enjoyable to watch in my opinion.

The recepie for amazing ownership of original GR Yaris is simple, you need to be about 166 or less cm tall 😂 I have no problem with sitting position in the lowest setting, Passenger seat is even worse it is taller and has no height adjustment.They did made changes with facelift and it suppose to be better, but now the price is something else 😢 Nice lap Misha!

I believe the Yaris seats have to be mounted that high for crash testing. I am not a Toyota engineer, but it was brought up in Matt Watson's coverage of the newer version. The new ones have a slightly lower position apparently - again I really have no idea I am american and couldn't get a GR Corrola if my life depended on it.

@@tinhinnh I'd love to find out. I've seen the car in person - it's pretty small. I imagine if an X5 or X7 BMW hit one of these, the higher seat would make the impact and airbag deployment more "survivable".

A Yaris isn't getting anywhere near an AMG GTR. The current M2 absolutely destroys the Yaris in lap times, so against an AMG GTR it's got no hope.

yea pedal placement is bad for heel and toe, i usually do it myself on most of my cars but i don't do it in the Yaris and yes the iMT has been excellent for me so far, the faster you go the better it gets. basically the faster you go the whole car gets better.

I don't know where he got the TÜV-certificate from, but the DNA Racing uniball thingys are NOT street legal in germany. They have no TÜV-papers whatsoever, hence why I could not use them on my GR Yaris.

@@Djiony23 The square design reminds me of a 1990’s TV complete with terrible cheap plastic. I can’t get over how they signed off on it. The whole car exterior is quite extreme and wild and then you have this slab of dash with all the styling of a brick mantlepiece! I do love the car though apart from that.

nah, the dash is one of the coolest things i've seen an OEM do to a recent car, probably ever. the car is a throwback to the 90s and the dash finally matches. it's actually perfect

@@kaymach to each their own, i feel it looks a little lazy, even on older Toyotas the dash hump swooped into the rest if the console, this so me looks like the just made cut outs in a L shaped piece and glued it on, id be happier with it if the hump for the gauges swooped in and connected to the section surrounding the information screen and climate control

@@kaymach It looks like the dash in my lorry. I’ve had 90’s Japanese cars ( GC8 WRX,MR2 Turbo) and neither looked like they had a ruler and crayon to design them. It’s bold but it just looks so out of place and the screen with the big thick black border doesn’t help one bit. It’s marmite for sure
