Crazy Shuffle is the Quintessential Dancerush Chart | Chart Analysis

Ойындар

Crazy Shuffle is one of most iconic Dancerush charts and rightly so. In this video I try to break down what about it that makes it so great, from note placement to visual and audio cues. I hope that I have done this chart justice in my analysis. Special thanks to Lily for helping with the script.

would love to see more chart breakdowns like this, it's hard to guess what you're supposed to do for certain chart patterns

There is actually a hidden detail in the down steps of the chart. At the start you take four right steps which move side to side followed by three left steps going to the left, Tenori's guide video performs this as an asymmetrical T-step pattern. At the start of the second build at the end of the bridge the four right steps are repeated followed by four symmetrical left steps which both references and rectifies the asymmetrical pattern from the beginning of the first build in the intro. It's the map that made me realise that the choreographers really knew what they were doing. Also I hope they remap some of the songs. Dawn of Falcon Jumpstyle edition when???

After watching "An In-Depth Look into Dancerush", I honestly agreed on your reasoning but didn't like several things in that video. This, however, is such a huge improvement. From your voice, the pace, how you construct your arguments from beginning to end and of course, give credits to each channel represented. No matter what kind of video you want to do next, keep up this good work. By the way, yes, I’m the right guy at 2:31, and I still hate that video and this song XD but I agree that this is definitely the quintessential chart of this game.

at the chorus, I've also seen people do reverse running man to spice things up and then return to regular running man; nonetheless, I love seeing everyone's different styles when they hop on the pads!

I only know this arcade game through "How pro arcade players play the dancing machines" and when I heard this song plays in that animation I was like "woah this groovy and cool! what's this called?" honestly I wish we have this in my country because this is so sweet!

Great analysis overall, but I have one big criticism. You keep talking about this chart like a first time player would be playing it. Isn't it like a level 9 chart on a song that unlocks at 150 stars? Additionally, going from not knowing anything about the game to reading and executing various shuffle moves in under a minute would be extreme. All that said, it could be a great song to show off to a new player to get them interested and explain the fundamentals for all the reasons you brought up. I started playing recently, and found 41 Days on normal to be a good beginner chart. It uses all the basic steps and teaches you how to start combining them, but is easier to sight read and takes less energy. There are multiple sections of on beat open notes in various patterns, inviting you to experiment with freestyling within dancerush or recover from the high energy shuffle sections. As a bonus, it's at the top of the alphabetical list, which is especially convenient if you don't have e-amuse. If you're still here, thanks for introducing me to Wacca

I just got to try this game this week and it was pretty fun once I got used to it. I kind of wish that more songs were available to new players though. I’m actually confused on how to unlock new songs. I get that we have to collect stars, but how do we build up 150 stars when we only get to play 2 songs? Do we have to have an E-amusement card to save our star progress?

It's 75 stars. My wife and I took turns playing and unlocked it in like, 30 minutes or so of playing? I've only played DRS once, and the entire second half of my playtime had sets with this song in it, so you can definitely unlock it as a beginner.

I don't really think the stutter is a bad designed step, it just a small part that structures your steps in a different direction. Not everything is supposed to be freestyle man, just be creative around this restriction.
