The Avrocar was a joke that they showed to the public. Avro was also developing a saucer with a diameter of well over 100', which is also public information. What they won't tell you is how flying saucers were invented by the Nazis and had nothing to do with aliens.

The Avrocar if I recall correctly was a project of Avro here in Canada back in the 50's. Upon the Arrow's infamous cancellation, Avro was in a rough spot and over the subsequent months scrapped a lot of their ideas, or discontinued them at the least. Some of which got adopted by the US and continued on as USAF projects. The Avrocar was one of them (hence the USAF markings) however it was deemed far too unstable and I don't believe it achieved anything over hovering 7 or 8 feet off the ground. Don't quote me on all of this, as I'm going by what I remember from an essay I wrote back in grade school maybe 10-15 years ago! lol

@@floziii7233No 747!! The 747 was defeated by Airbus. Currently, A380 is greater than 747 and is considered as Super Jumbo. A380 - SuperJumbo B747 - Jumbo

The fact that all of these could make it off the ground is crazy

An-225, the machine is quite traditional, albeit striking in size. But in the USSR there was a concept project called "Молния-1000" or "Геракл". It was a two-body triplane, capable of carrying a cargo weighing 450 tons. Its own weight with fuel was the same 450 tons.
