"Crazy Lady" Sunita Advaney kicked out of WSOP 2024 gives her side - interview by Amir Namatinia

Sunita Advaney, dubbed the "crazy lady", who was DQ from a WSOP 2024 event after blowing up at the table during a tournament, was interviewed by poker pro Amir Namatinia shortly thereafter. Allen Kessler posted a video on his Facebook as to the end of the situation, but the context of what happened prior to the video starting was not able to be seen. To provide this missing context, Ms. Advaney reached out and wished to give an interview to provide her side of the story for what transpired while playing Event #43: $1,500 Mixed PLO Hi-Lo 8; Omaha Hi-Lo 8; Big O at the 2024 World Series of Poker. The interview is shown in its entirety without any edits.

She said that 3 other players at the table were angry with her. Why would they be angry with her if she did nothing wrong? I'd like to hear from any of those others at the table.

So I was there! Like... literally there. I rebought in this tourney and my seat was at her table like 5-10 minutes after she got booted. The consensus at the table was that they lost nearly an HOUR of playtime due to her antics slowing down the game (taking forever during her turn, etc.). Besides continually causing a scene/creating bad vibes, this is another reason to be pretty upset with her.

I doubt they are mad she won. Especially as a small stakes player. "I heard of you" probably implies other dealers/staff gossiped about her as a complainer, troublemaker, etc. even if she thinks she never did anything before. Right or wrong if people have a preconceived idea about someone any slightest misstep or question or whatever will lead to confrontation.

I was chip leader with over 20% of the chips in the first two hours. I have nothing to be angry about. Players who lost chips to me were angry. They initiated the aggression against me. I didn't respond until they turned words into actions and said they were throwing me out of the tournament.

I used to think gals/people like this were nuts. I don’t anymore. I witnessed a player get legitimately confused in a $1500 event last week. He was older. He didn’t hear the action. And the dealer was NOT clear. It was innocent. Were they super bright, or a pro? No. But the dealer went off on him. Luckily, me and another player calmed the dealer down. But it’s was so odd. Shocking, actually.

Unfortunately, I have had men berate me, call me names and attack my play many many times. I’ve been playing over 30 years live poker and they are not kind to some of us women who they can’t bully. I started using my phone to record incidents without them knowing because they tent to give details differently when the floor / management comes. I then push play and allow them to see for themselves. It’s sad this still goes on…

I went to break last week in a daily and the dealer heard that the big stack is supposed to get all the 100 chips. Came back to no 100 chips or any chips for my 21 $100 chips I had in front of my stack. Swept them all up and put them in front of the chip leader and floor guy paid him for them assuming he’d bought them all. Broken English too so she couldn’t communicate what she did or didn’t do. Crazy stuff and not enough to hold up the tournament and check cameras but BS for sure.
