CRAZY JETBLAST on Miami Runway 20 YEARS AGO
JustPlanes filming of Miami International Airport in 1998 includes some footage taken right next to the runway and you basically can't get any closer to the action! Those were the days and those were the planes. Hope you enjoy the loud noise!

JustPlanes im curious about iberia DC 9 jet, were they capable of reaching it's destination if Spain or did they had to refuel before heading to it's destination ? Just curious
That Delta MD-88 at 2:28 (N971DL) still flies today. She’s 27, almost 28, years old!

@@realcricket20gamershq44 believe it or not, USAJet will be taking ownership of this aircraft as a freighter. So over 30 years of age and this airframe will still be flying!
Ah, 1998. When people still knew how to hold a camera and when microphones actually were capable of capturing the dynamics of a plane :D. Great video!
Wow epic video, thats real Jet sound :D. For everybody who's asking what the iberia dc-9 is doing in Miami, Iberia operated a hub in Miami, from which you could connect to many latin American and other destination, in 1998 it was not profitable to fly huge 747 to every city.
This is therapy :D

The livery on that L-1011 made it look so strange, especially the nose!
What was an Iberia DC-9 doing in Miami?

Feeder from the Caribbean and some Latin American countries for Iberia’s long haul from MIA to MAD. In fact IB was the only European carrier who had been granted permission for a US hub. Prior to this they used Santo Domingo which had been way less feasible compared to Miami. After 12 years Iberia de-hubbed MIA in 2004, also partly an aftermath of the terror attacks of September 2001.

Best dang compilation Ive seen. When I think of civil aviation at its finest (aircraft types, airlines, liveries, mystique, nostalgia...) This is it!!
So happy to see ALM!!!!!! WOW VERY NICE!
I'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet, but if you look closely at the AA 727's registration at around 0:39, that's the same plane that got stolen from an Airport in Angola and has never been found since.
That was AWESOME!!! I can't believe how close you were able to get. GREAT VID, possibly my fav one from your channel yet!!! ;-)
Great footage.What a sound!
Beautiful Memories!😃. Espacially At the Start with the classic 747! Beautiful!☺
Great catch
Nostalgia, wow the good old days of aviation.
So good to see so mamy different planes and airlines! Bring back the old times!
Nice video and nice old plane take off liked.
I visited MIA in October of 1998. I do remember an SAA 747-400 parked there. MIA had a really nice planespotting area near the west end of the longest runway.
THANKS
Not too many high bypass engines back then.
How was that Iberia MD-90 (I think) in Miami?

That DC 9 not MD90
Awesome!
Great blast from the past. What on Earth was an Iberia MD80 doing in Florida?
The noise! I watched a Hong Kong Airlines A359 take off at SFO from Bayfront Park today and literally could not hear it. Pretty remarkable.
Epic!
Awesome !!!!!!!
O fluxo de aeronaves em Miami é fantástico!...Muito lega! mesmo...
nice!
That Avianca 757😍
Good old times when i was planespotting with my granddad and became the first aviation-nerd in elementary school even before someone knowed what a nerd is.
These older videos are essentially archives of classic planes and numerous airlines that are now dead or have changed their liveries..some for the better, others for the worse.
I really miss the old 737-200. Especially on landing when put into thrust reverse watching those buckets do their stuff. Aviation heaven. :-)
McDonnell Douglas / Boeing parade. Nice. *goosebumps*
What was Iberia DC9 doing in Miami?
BA is probably still using that 747 😂

Hard to tell what the reg is by freeze framing, but looked like an H at the end. If it's G-CIVH, then yep it's still flying for BA. It would have been 2 years old in this video

QuickBurn70 Yeh I gave up looking for a fleet list for the Landor livery.
The Avianca 757 at 1:20 (N987AN) still flies under AF 00-9001 (now a C32) in supposedly black-ops. * adjusts tinfoil hat* * x-files theme intensifies* * fbi knocks door *
Cayman Airways ♥️♥️♥️
The 727s sound the best
