Jesus Christ!!! This is my childhood in vivid color. What a treasure trove of carriers of that time. Question: how on earth did you manage to not include a single Midway Airlines jet at Midway Airport? That is a feat in itself. I would hopefully assume that the complete video contains much more, yes?

I am finding some inconsistencies with the 1993 year. The Lufthansa 742 according to airfleets was scrapped in 1980. And that America West at 8:10 is registered N620AW. That aircraft is stored now but was with America West only for a year from 1989-1990 and then became a US Airways aircraft. Perhaps this is a collection of footage from different years.

Wow that’s what O’Hare looked like when I used to live in Chicago, I was so busy and just took all of those aircraft types for granted as they were all dime a dozen and just the norm, I wish I’d made more of an effort to pick the various types to fly on although I flew on nearly every type United had, lots of 727 flights and 737-200s , they still served food!

I sure miss those days. Today’s planes are absolutely boring. Stupid ass winglets, quiet boring engines, similar looking cookie cutter crap. Thank you for sharing so those too young could see what REAL aviation was like.

What's wrong with the winglets? The only thing really to be missed is the variety as it was before a lot of mergers. I don't really differentiate the sounds of engines. But with that said you couldn't find out what type of plane or route it was at your fingertips with flight aware. Or listen to ATC

@@kinkisharyocoasters Winglets make the plane look ugly, especially the really large winglets. The clean lines of the wing are broken up from the side and the back and front. I think Airbus has some really tiny ones on some planes that are barely noticeable so aren't too bad but Boeing has terrible ones. At least the 777 and 787 don't have them. the a350 winglets are terrible too.

Dude, right around this time I got to fly on one of those tiny northwest dc-9s to visit my grandparents in Florida. Those were some of the greatest times of my life. I looked forward to it every year and to see that plane (even knowing there’s a slim possibility that I rode that particular one) is outstanding.
